amfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS gala was held last night in Cannes. The celebrities were out in gorgeous gowns to support a good cause. This year’s gala featured a formal dinner and live auction run by Sharon Stone and Harvey Weinstein. Guests were also shown a clip from Madonna’s Malawai documentary about AIDS orphans, I Am Because We Are. Last year’s event raised a whopping $7 million. A table at this year’s benefit ran from $40,000 to $150,000, with all proceeds going to amfAR, which funds AIDS research.
