I’m off to California!!

281x2111.jpg

Hey everyone, so I’m heading out tonight to LA - where I’m going to see the MTV Movie Awards!!! Erin and I are flying out of Portland tonight around 8:00, and we’ll touch down in LA sometime around 10:00PM. Tomorrow I have to check in at the movie awards around noon - and I’ll be there till the show is over! I’ll be on the red carpet, stalking celeb’s as they make their way into the Gibson Amphitheater. After the red carpet, I’ll be whisked away to some area reserved for bloggers. (I wonder who else I’m going to bump in to!)

I can’t even begin to tell you guys how excited I am! I’ve been working for years now - to be invited to one of these awards shows - and here it is! I can’t wait!

After the show, Erin and I are going to stick around in LA for a couple days…relax, and sight see.

You guys HAVE to remember to watch the awards tomorrow night! They’ll be LIVE SUNDAY, JUNE 1ST AT 8PM!! Also - if you guys want to, check back here tomorrow night. I will be LIVE BLOGGING from the awards! I can tell you what I’m seeing - and hearing - as it goes down!! How cool is that!

Watch for me on the red carpet, I’ll be the one with the stupid-star-struck-crazed-look in my eyes!

UPDATE (7:10PM): Erin and I are sitting at PDX - waiting to board the plane. I’m now realizing how freakishly large my laptop is…I’m trying to balance it on my lap and type at the same time.

We should be out of here in the next hour or so…then we’ll be in LA! We’re flying supasta style, we were able to upgrade to First Class! Free booze - and nicer seats!

I’ll post again once we get to our hotel…who knows when that will be!

PS: A group of us girls went and saw the SATC movie last night at 10:30 PM. It was awesome! Did any of you go see it?

Jocelyn

UPDATE (Sunday, 9:3AM):  We’re here!  I’m sitting in our hotel room in Hollywood, and a little bit achey from the stiff bed.  Last night was a nightmare, let me tell you!!!

The flight was amazing… paying $50 to upgrade to First Class is TOTALLY worth the money.  We had these huge comfy seats, and I drank screwdrivers until we landed.  :)

Our flight landed at 10:00PM, and we went down to get our baggage.  We walked outside to catch our shuttle - a shuttle that promises if they “are late, then you don’t pay!” Of course they were almost a half an hour late, and neither Erin nor I had the balls to ask for the shuttle for free.  We finally - finally get to our hotel at 12:30.  The shuttle took FOREVER.

We end up at our hotel at 12:30AM, exhausted, and needing to take a shower.  We walk in to the Ramada in Hollywood, and find that even though I have reservations - AND A CONFIRMATION - we have no room.  The nice Indian man tells us there is not a single room at the hotel.  He says “Yes, you’re right - you DO have a confirmation - but I don’t know what’s going on.  I’ll talk to the manager in the morning.”  So I’m getting pissed, and the super bitch in me is welling up and coming out.  I’m freaking out on the guy - demanding a room…and the bottom line was - there was no room for us.

So at 1:00AM - we have to get a taxi, and take us to another hotel - which apparently is only 5 miles away from where we are.  30 minutes and $20 later, we arrive at another Ramada.  We finally make it to our room sometime around 2:00AM, and quickly fell asleep.

This morning I wake to find there is a MASSIVE FIRE over at Universal City (which is practically where the MTV Awards are going to be held).  That would be just my luck… I called my rep over at MTV, and she said the show is on!  PHEW!

Now I need to get up and get going…get ready for my big day!

I’ll post more as the day goes on!

Kristin Davis: I’m nothing like Charlotte

Kristin Davis

As women flock to the theaters this weekend to satisfy their itch for Sex–and the City, the cast’s Kristin Davis is opening up about the film, turning 40, and why she considers herself the complete opposite of her character Charlotte.

“I’d love to find someone to fall in love with but I’m not as traditional as Charlotte,” the actress tells Parade.com’s Jeanne Wolf. “I’m not completely marriage-obsessed like Charlotte was. I would definitely like to fall in love with someone and go through life with them.”

Growing up in the South, Kristin says there was definitely pressure to settle down at a young age, but these days she’s holding out for Mr. Right, which perhaps does makes her just a little bit like Charlotte!

“There was a lot of pressure that you marry well and that you marry relatively young,” she says of her Southern upbringing. “If you didn’t you were kind of left out. It made me angry because why was that the be all and end all for a young woman? I think that women should be free to do whatever they want to do. I just haven’t found the right person.”

When SATC, the movie, started filming Kristin, like most of the cast, had already crossed the bit 4-o. But the actress insists she’s ok with where she is.

“I thought I would never hit 40,” she confesses. “I drank a lot as a teenager. It became a real problem for me. I was really shy and I didn’t know how to come out of my shell. I drank for the same reason I love acting–I wanted to feel things and express myself and be free.”

Davis, who says she’s left her drinking days far behind her, looks as good now as she did when Sex and the City premiered, 10 years ago! So how does she do it?

“Doing the movie was a reminder that spending 18 hours a day on those heels is a pretty good work out,” she says. “I always say I’m going to start a fitness regimen. I’ve been a member of a gym and everything but I just don’t work out.”

Good genes aside, Kristin says there’s one thing she’ll never get used to when making films–shooting loves scenes!

“Previous to the getting on the show I was pretty uptight about that stuff,” she admits. “Simulating sex was a strange part of our jobs. There is no debate about that. It’s a strange thing!”

It was also strange for Kristin’s family, who she says avoided subscribing to HBO!

“In the beginning, my parents didn’t even have HBO and they weren’t about to get it because my grandmother lived in the house with them and they didn’t want to her to get a glimpse of her granddaughter in bed with some guy,” Kristin says, adding, “But after she died they subscribed. Then I had to call my mom every week and go, ‘I’m taking my nighty off so don’t watch!’”

Paul McCartney denies reunion with Ringo Starr

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney has denied he will reunite with his former Beatle bandmate Ringo Starr at an upcoming homecoming gig.

The pair was rumored to be reuniting during McCartney’s performance at the Capital of Culture concert in their native Liverpool this Saturday.

But McCartney insists Starr will not be joining him onstage, saying, “That was never going to be on the cards.”

Instead, McCartney will reportedly collaborate with the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl. Other bands due to play at the event include the Kaiser Chiefs and the Zutons.

Denise Richards is sending Charlie a wedding gift from their girls

Denise Richards

They’ve been embroiled in one of the messiest Hollywood breakups, but Denise Richards says ex-husband Charlie Sheen can expect a wedding present from her – in their daughters’ names.

“[I’ll send] something from the girls,” Richards said on the Valentine in the Morning radio show Friday when asked about Sheen’s upcoming nuptials.

The Two and a Half Men star and real-estate investor Brooke Mueller are getting married Friday in Los Angeles.

Richards won’t attend the event, but the ex-couple’s daughters, Sam, 4, and Lola, who turns 3 next month, will be there, she said.

“At the end of the day, he’s their dad,” she said of Sheen. “They have to understand that.”

Sheen and Richards, who stars in the new reality show Denise Richards: It’s Complicated, have been locked in bitter disputes over everything from the children appearing on the show to visitation rights after the divorce. Still, when Sheen and Mueller got engaged last year, Richards sent her best wishes to the couple. “I am genuinely happy for the two of them,” she said at the time.
