Paris Hilton has become a muse to her boyfriend of two months, Benji Madden.
“He actually wrote me a beautiful song, and actually recorded it in the studio,” Hilton, 27, said Monday night at the LG launch of the TV series Scarlet. “He surprised me with it. It’s called, ‘Shine Your Light.’ It’s this really beautiful love song about me. It was the sweetest thing that anyone has ever done for me.”
As Madden spent the night sharing DJ duties with pal Steve Aoki, Hilton couldn’t stop gushing about the 29-year-old Good Charlotte guitarist.
“He’s my best friend,” she said. “He’s just different from any guy that I’ve ever been with. I just trust him completely, and I know that he’d be there for me, no matter what.”
With things going so well, could Hilton beat girlfriend Nicole Richie to the altar?
“I don’t know,” Hilton says with a smile, “My life’s a lot different now, I’m very much at peace, and I’m so happy, and in control, and so very excited about life.”

Tom Cruise is reuniting with Sumner Redstone, CEO of Viacom and the mastermind behind the Mission: Impossible franchise! The pair met up at the Beverly Hills Hotel on March 27, two years after Redstone dropped Tom’s production company. “Tom will make M:I 4 once Paramount greenlights the script,” an insider tells Life & Style. “There will most definitely be another Mission: Impossible!”
I’m not going to lie, I love the Mission Impossible movies. The last one wasn’t nearly as good as the first two, but Tom looks hot in those movies.

Mel Gibson is to return to acting for the first time in six years in a feature adaptation of 80s BBC drama Edge of Darkness.
The Mad Max star has not topped the bill in front of the camera since Signs and We Were Soldiers in 2002, having concentrated on directing with The Passion of the Christ in 2004 and Apocalypto in 2006.
But after Martin Campbell, director of the original television series, developed a cinematic version of the show with Graham King and William Monahan, the Oscar-winning producer and screenwriter of The Departed, Gibson has now committed to his first acting role in years, Variety reports.
The Bafta-winning BBC miniseries featured Bob Peck as a policeman whose activist daughter is murdered in front of him.
When he delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a dense conspiracy of government intrigue and nuclear corruption.
According to Variety, Gibson is a long-time fan of the show and was receptive to King and Campbell’s overtures.
The role in Edge of Darkness, which begins shooting in Boston in August, will represent the Braveheart star’s first attempt to court public affections since his approval ratings declined after a drunk-driving arrest in 2006, following which he made anti-Semitic remarks.
Having had his drivers’ licence suspended, received three years’ probation and a $1,300 fine and ordered to attend alcohol education classes and a three-month alcohol education program, he later described the incident as a “moment of insanity”.

Kate Beckinsale is honored her father Richard remains a revered actor in her native England - because it helps her remember him.
The late actor, star of British sitcoms Porridge and Rising Damp, was just 31 when he suffered a massive heart attack in his sleep - leaving his wife, actress Judy Loe, to bring up a then five-year-old Kate.
And the Underworld star insists she is grateful to Britain for keeping his memory alive - since she has little recollection of her dad.
She says, “I do have memories, but when you’re that young, you’re not really at the conversational stage of a relationship. He’s still such a huge figure in England, which I find moving and impressive all these years later, but at the time, I used to get him confused with both God and John Lennon because John Lennon died a couple of years later, and I remember getting the whole thing a bit mixed up.”
