Funnyman Tom Arnold is getting serious after signing up to star in a new film based on the Columbine High School massacre.

Based on writer/director Andrew Robinson’s memories of the 1999 tragedy, which left 12 students and a teacher dead and 23 others wounded, April Showers also features Prom Night star Kelly Blatz and Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara.

The film follows students at a Columbine-type school as they attempt to cope with the massacre. Arnold will play a popular teacher.

Filming on the movie begins next month in Omaha, Nebraska.

Hot couple Drew Barrymore and Justin Long are planning to marry in the Caribbean later this year, according to spies who overheard them plotting the ceremony over a recent lunch date.

The pair recently topped of a poll of Hollywood love-birds reportedly chatted about an intimate affair, involving close friends and family members only.

An eavesdropper tells the National Enquirer that Long and Barrymore drew up a wish list of exotic resorts at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont.

The pair recently cooed about the romance on Oprah. Twice married Barrymore said, “I’ve found a best friend, it’s the best. This relationship is great; it’s healthy and it’s productive and it’s supportive and it’s full of humour. All our friends get along great, which is awesome because we travel together in packs. We’re having an excellent time.”

Long added, “She smells great… (and) she’s the most compassionate person I’ve ever met.”

Britney Spears has been given the perfect U.S. Mother’s Day gift - a day with her kids.

Thanks to continued improvements in the pop star’s relationship with ex-husband Kevin Federline, the rapper/dancer has agreed to let Sean Preston and Jayden James spend May 11th with their mom.

Federline was given full custody of the kids after Spears staged a stand-off with police, emergency services officials and childcare experts when she refused to handover her sons after a scheduled visitation in January.

The couple have been battling the custody order ever since, but now Federline appears to have cooled on the issue - and he’s agreeing to let Spears spend more time with their sons.

A family friend tells Life & Style magazine that Federline is considering granting his ex overnight visits with the kids, after Spears filed a formal request with the courts.

The insider says, “He hasn’t said yes yet, but he’s considering it.”

And, whereas Federline once reportedly dreaded phone chats with his ex, sources claim the couple has become friendly, with the rapper calling her his “lady” and Spears ending calls by telling her former husband that she loves him.

One pals tells Life & Style, “It’s such a huge change. It hasn’t been like this between them in forever.”

Richie Sambora is set to replace Bret Michaels in the next season of TV dating show Rock Of Love, according to reports.

Poison frontman Michaels recently wrapped season two when he chose wannabe actress Ambre Lake as the winner and his new girlfriend.

Despite the first season being exposed as a fraud - the winning contestant already had a boyfriend - Michaels and Lake insists this time it is for real, and they are handing the show over to another single star.

Bon Jovi guitarist Sambora 48, has been single since his April 2007 divorce from actress Heather Locklear and a shortlived romance with Locklear’s former pal Denise Richards ended last year.

And TV bosses want to help him find love. A source tells OK!, “He’s perfect for TV. If you thought Bret (Michaels) was must see TV, you ain’t seen anything yet. Richie is going to be a train wreck looking for love.”

Grey’s Anatomy hottie Justin Chambers says he is finally getting his zzz’s.

“I’m doing really good — I’m actually sleeping!” Chambers, 37, who plays Dr. Alex Karev on the ABC hit, told Usmagazine.com at the Butterfly Ball Tuesday in Beverly Hills.

In January, Chambers “voluntarily checked himself into UCLA Medical Center to get help with a pre-existing sleeping disorder” for three days, his rep said.

These days, “I am really enjoying life,” Chambers told Us.

What’s helping him?

Bikram yoga, which he’s been doing for the past two months.

“It is where you sit in a 104-degree room, and you stretch for an hour-and-a- half,” he explained. “I swear by it — it’s incredible.”

His wife Keisha — with whom he has five kids — has also been a source of support.

“We are going on 14 years,” the sexy dad told Us. “When we get to 50, we will send you a postcard!”

A very pregnant Tori Spelling and hubby Dean McDermott were out and about in West Hollywood today. The two ran errands and held hands for a bit before making a quick outfit change and heading to The Pump Station and Nurtury with son Liam in tow.
