Tim McGraw’s been busy with classic rock and spicy chips

Tim McGraw has bagged a couple of nice developments for his career: He just set a precedent as the first country artist to hit No. 1 on the “Billboard” classic rock chart, and he has his own special corn chip flavor in a deal with Fritos.
Tim’s collaboration with Def Leppard on “Nine Lives,” a track from the band’s album Songs From The Sparkle Lounge, vaulted him to the top spot on the chart. Tim’s tour manager, Robert Allen, is the brother of Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen, which led to an introduction to the group. The song came together after Tim made a guest appearance at the band’s 2006 show at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl. Rick also performed at Tim’s Swampstock benefit concert in Louisiana back in 2004.
Tim’s Fritos agreement actually has his new flavor, Tim McGraw’s Spicy Jalapeno Fritos, in Wal-Mart stores today. Fritos has been signed as the official snack food for Tim’s Live Your Voice Tour, which kicks off in Tampa May 9.
Meanwhile, Tim’s latest Swampstock installment is set for Sept. 13.
Have you heard Nine Lives yet? If you’re not a fan of Tim, then at least check it out for the rockin’ sound. Coming from a major Def Leppard fan, I love it. And the song was added as downloadable content for Guitar Hero 3. It’s fun, check it out.
