Jennifer Lopez’s aunt is battling ovarian cancer
Jennifer Lopez is devastated after discovering a beloved aunt is battling ovarian cancer for a second time.
Myrza Rodriguez – the 65-year-old sister of Lopez’ mother Guadalupe – underwent six weeks of treatment in September, 2005 in Germany’s Leonardis Klinik in Bad Heilbrunn, the same facility where Farrah Fawcettt and Roy Horn have been treated.
The disease went into temporary remission, but Rodriguez learned her cancer had returned last year and recent chemotherapy treatments have failed to slow its progress, according to new reports.
Rodriguez became so ill she was unable to attend the recent baptism of Lopez’s twins with husband Marc Anthony.
A source close to the Lopez family tells the National Enquirer, “Myrza has been too weak to return to Germany for treatment. Her losing medical battle has left Jennifer disappointed and sad. She had hoped Myrza would be strong enough to attend the baby’s christening, and was extremely upset when she couldn’t.”
