Kid Rock’s assault case dismissed

Kid Rock has had a $25,000 lawsuit against him dropped, after a U.S. jury ruled the woman who accused the star of assault had no grounds to sue.
Kelly Ann Kozlowski filed papers against the rocker last year, claiming he threw her into a snowdrift outside his Brandon Township, Michigan, recording studio in March after she had refused to spend the night with him.
The 29-year-old old filed a police report against Rock - real name Robert James Ritchie - but no charges were ever brought.
Richie subsequently countersued Kozlowski, claiming she embarrassed and defamed him in her statement to police, but the lawsuit was dropped in November after the star failed to show up for a court hearing.
Now a seven-man jury has dismissed Kozlowski’s own suit, dropping the case in a U.S. court on Friday. And Richie’s attorney William Horton reveals the star is delighted with the result.
He says, “We’re very pleased. We wish we wouldn’t have had to be here in the first place, but we think the jury’s decision was justified. We said all along that he was a lightning rod for a celebrity shakedown.”
