Tilda Swinton didn’t want any Sundance swag

Oscar winner Tilda Swinton was staggered by the amount of free stuff on offer at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah in January, claiming the event has become like “a polluted lagoon”.
The actress was at the festival with her new film Derek, which she wrote and produced, and was ostracised when she told organisers she wanted nothing to do with the “swag”.
She explains, “Everybody went there to enjoy the crystal waters and the white sand, and they just messed it up with swag bags and studio deals. I actually said I didn’t want any swag, and it was not kindly taken. Someone almost said to me, ‘Well, what are you doing here then?’”

I desperately want to see her in eyeliner. I don’t know if she’s transgendered or what, but she looks like David Bowie to me, and even Bowie wore eyeliner.

She’s awesome. She is the most independent free-thinker out there right now and I highly respect her for it. And she was fabulous in Michael Clayton!

Okay, how does someone know when someone “almost said something”?

Good for her. Sundance has been polluted with so many tarts that are not even relevant to the cinema community. Its disgusting what it has become.
