Sex & The City star Kim Cattrall’s links to the catering world have landed her the job of hosting the upcoming 2008 James Beard Awards, which are considered the `Oscars of the food world’.

The actress, who is dating top chef Alan Wyse, will hand out awards for Outstanding Restaurant, Chef and Cookbooks, among others at Avery Fisher Hall in New York on June 8th.

Those fighting to be crowned the event’s Outstanding Chef are Grant Achatz, Dan Barber, Suzanne Goin, Frank Stitt and Jose Andres.
