Daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave, Joely Richardson is so terrified of walking the red carpet; she turns into a “different person”. The actress hates celebrity events so much, she doesn’t recognize herself when she sees photos or film footage – and understands why she’s often thought of as an “icy” star.

She says, “(It’s a common misconception) I’m icy. It’s very difficult when there are pictures taken on the red carpet. I find those things so terrifying that another persona just kicks in. I don’t recognize myself.”
