Renee Zellweger would hate to be a journalist – because she wouldn’t be able to print negative stories about celebrities. The Leatherheads star plays an undercover reporter in her latest role, and, despite training to be journalist before she took up a career in acting, insists she would hate the moral responsibility that comes with the job.

She tells Parade magazine, “I don’t know that I’d want that kind of responsibility of having the power to hurt someone with a public disclosure. But, ironically, I intended to be a reporter before I got into acting. “I majored in journalism, so it was kind of fun to explore that. But I could never write a story that would have a big, negative impact on somebody’s life. I don’t think I’d sit well with that.”

Jessica Simpson is at Cedars hospital in LA because due to a small kidney infection, In Touch can exclusively reveal. “She checked in on Friday morning because she was feeling achy and had a fever,” a friend of the family confirmed. Jessica was kept over the weekend for observations and is expected to be released Tuesday morning. “She is doing fine, but she is ready to get out of there,” added the friend. And although Jessica’s boyfriend, Dallas Cowboy QB, Tony Romo wanted to be by her side, he had prior commitments in Dallas.

George Clooney plans to walk away from acting before he hits 60, to concentrate on film-making full-time.

After finding fame infront of the camera, Clooney has been expanding into writing and directing in recent years, with the Oscar-nominated Good Night, and Good Luck and his new movie Leatherheads. And the 46-year-old reveals he is prepared to make the switch full-time when he’s too old to play leading men.

Clooney says, “I certainly would do that with the acting part. I’m fairly comfortable with the idea of growing into a grey-haired old character actor. But the reason I’m directing and writing is that it’s a world that will allow me to be creative long after people stop wanting to see me in front of a camera.”

Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael has hit out at the actress’s decision to star in a new movie about murderer Charles Manson, fearing it could ruin her career.

Lohan has signed to play Manson cult member Nancy Pittman in forthcoming film Manson Girls. ‘Manson Family’ members were responsible for the murders of seven people in the 1960s, including director Roman Polanski’s actress wife Sharon Tate.

Michael Lohan, who recently reunited with the star following a spell in prison, is disappointed with his daughter’s decision to accept the grisly role, and urges her to stick to the wholesome family films that helped her find fame.

He tells the New York Daily News, “I don’t know who is making her decisions for her. But I just wish she would go back to those family-style films, The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, you know. “This is a bad decision and I don’t know who is telling her to do it.”
