Madonna: I would get cut on American Idol

These days, struggling and aspiring artists can take the fast track to fame thanks to American Idol, but back in the day, you had to work your way up and no one knows that better than Madonna.
“I did it the hard way,” she tells New York radio station Z100 in an interview to air tomorrow. “I had to teach myself how to play the drums, I had to get into a band. [I played] in crappy little clubs for years before anybody would even pay any attention to me. [ I had to] take my tape around to record companies and have them shut the door in my face. It took a long time. I came up the hard way.”

“I came up the hard way.”
Yeah. And now she won’t go away.

At least she has ambition and desire. NONE of these people masquerading as ’singers’ these days have either of the two. American Idol is a JOKE, I happened to catch it on TV at the gym the other day and I couldn’t even watch it. It was embarrassing and pathetic, I could not believe people will sell you to that level to release 1 shitty record in this shitty country. America is so LAME no wonder once people make money they get the hell out of here.

So many people want instant celebrity now. We live very much in a time that seems to demand instant gratification. Not everything is meant to come to us the easy way, but this tabloid society we have created is why we have so many people “famous” for doing nothing and having no discernable talent, unlike people like Madonna and other who worked very hard and earned all their accolades.
