Converse releases Kurt Cobain shoe line

Feeling like your grunge-music-tribute flannel shirts no longer have the same oomph they once did? Well, fret no more: Converse has come out with an entire line dedicated to the late, great Kurt Cobain, who was famously wearing the brand when he committed suicide in 1994.
The shoes feature artwork borrowed from the personal notebooks of the Nirvana frontman. “Distressed in the way Kurt Cobain wore them, the shoes display his hopes, dreams and lyrics from amazing songs such as ‘Come As You Are,’ ” the press release reads.
And to avoid an inevitable legal skirmish, Courtney Love, Kurt’s widow, has personally reviewed and approved all of the designs. The shoes will be available this May, but you can get your first look at the line after the jump!

This is the latest in along line of Courtney Love making money off of Kurt Cobain. A Converse line of shoes is one of the LAST things Kurt would ever want anything to do with. It’s exactly the corporate,anything-for-money, sh*t that he hated. Don’t buy these shoes, they’re a joke and so is anyone wearing them.

I think it’s a good way for his fans to remember and memorialize him. I can’t wait to see the artwork they used from his personal notebooks!!

Is this writer on crack or what? “you can get your first look at the line after the jump!” What jump? They must have meant they’ll put up the link after they finish their bump.

True that Kurt was anti-corporate and is sure as hell rolling over in his grave, but think quality. I mean, I’m not trying to buy into the corpoate world. Hell, hate that the world in which we live in. But, I love Kurt Cobain as much as the next guy and will get them to honor him. Even though he would most likely be against this, it’s what is left of him. Besides the ‘Kurt Cobain Journals’ that were auctioned off a few years ago and then published nationally for about $20.
