Family group leader calls for Marion Cotillard to be stripped of her Oscar
The leader of a U.S. family group is calling for Academy Awards bosses to strip Marion Cotillard of her Oscar - for calling the 9/11 terrorist attacks a fake.
Pastor Robert Westman of watchdog group Options was left stunned by comments the French actress made about the collapse of the World Trade Center, which appeared on the internet in the days following her Best Actress Oscar win last month.
In the piece, which was filmed a year ago, Cotillard called the attacks a hoax and claimed the World Trade Center towers were destroyed to avoid costly repairs.
Cotillard has since claimed her comments, which were made on French TV show Paris First, Paris Last, were taken out of context - but that’s not enough for Pastor Westman. He tells America’s the Globe, “Marion Cotillard proves to be just another idiot lefty-actor and ugly French woman trashing America. She insults our country, calls us serial liars… and then expects us to honor her with an Oscar. Take away her trophy.”

Marion Cotillard deserves the award and, as long as she’s not inciting a riot, can say what she wants. I do believe that if you can’t say anything nice, you shouldn’t say anything at all. But I think many people posting here should heed that sentiment as well. The pastor has an attitude problem and should seek help.

I’d agree to his request. However, not until after we take a mean-spirited pastor and do away with everything he has achieved in his profession due to his rude, immature, and therefore, un-God like behavior. So, yes. Take away her Oscar. But ONLY after you have moved his congregation to another church, taken away his house (as those are usually paid for by a congregation) and make him apply to reattend seminary school. Why are American’s so terrified of looking at anything but the official 9/11 lies? If terrorists attacks brought down the Twin Towers then how did building 7 fall? Building 7 was not hit by anything. How many rights do you need to lose, and how many more wars need to start, before American’s wake up and see the De ja Vu’ of Hilter enslaving his masses with God awful laws passed beforehand that he said would only be for the so-called “bad guys” in comparison to the Patriot Acts and Home land INsecurity acts that enables the president of this country to be a sole dicator at any time he deems we are in a national emergency. Those directives allow him to force untested experimental drugs on the masses, quarantine entire cities, confiscate homes, bank accounts, cars and all personal assets. Lock people up without rights to know why and without legal defence. Is this FREEDOM folks? Feel safer since 9/11? Ready for more cameras on all street corners, eye scanners, implants, and an National ID card to treat you like a lab rat? Good grief. Only could only hope this was the ranting of a lunitic. It’s all true. Look it up..it’s all there in the new Unconstitutional legislation and Presidential directives passed by this administration and sell out Congress. In the event of another national emergency Bush now has the powers to completely suspend the Consitution and tie the hands of all legislative branches. No matter how you look at that it is a dictatorship. All stemming from the attacks on 9/11 that idiots like this preacher have decided to attack anyone who dares to go against the official myth. This isn’t a republican or democrat issue. It’s an American issue and Americans had better wake up before the NAU commences. No more America then. Look that up too…it’s out there for people sick of living in la la land and the true patriots who still believe in real freedom in this country and the Constitution that protects those freedoms.

I think anyone that thinks its ok for these foreigners to bad mouth the USA needs to move to that foreign country with them. Other countries expect us to keep our mouths shut about their problems but then its ok for them to bash us.

There is no Pastor Westman or group Options; a group of us tried to find both on the Net and elsewhere. This story is a complete hoax and you owe Marion Cotillard an apology for perpetrating this silly rightwing smear campaign. Next time, rather than just accepting someone’s e-mail or press release, call around and try to talk to “Pastor Westman” yourself. Then you’d have found out it was a fake, and saved everyone all this ranting and raving. And the Academy never takes away someone’s Oscar for political reasons; they’ve said it over and over. It’s a democratically voted award based on Best Performance of the year. So it’s no one’s business who gets an Oscar. Those who think they know what Marion Cotillard said don’t, unless they are fluent in Parisian French and have themselves seen the year-old French TV interview in which she ruminated about documentaries she’d seen and books she’d read. I’m always embarrassed to see Americans jump the gun on these kinds of stories, and freak out when they don’t really know what they’re talking about.
