Cameron Diaz and Abigail Breslin on the set of “My Sister’s Keeper”

Actress Cameron Diaz and child star Abigail Breslin film scenes together in their upcoming movie ‘My Sister’s Keeper‘ in Los Angeles. Cameron hid from photographers all day and even got her security guard to block anyone getting pictures with an umbrella.
I’ve heard some disturbing news on the internet:
Received this e mail today:
I went to see Jodi Picoult at a book signing last night. She discussed how this book is being made into a movie. However, she informed us that they are changing the ending!! She was very upset about this and confronted the production company at which point she was told “readers don’t matter!” She is asking for the help of her fans. Please email these two people and tell them you want the ending to remain the same!

Yeah it would change it but I mainly don’t get who Cameron is playing? This book was about sisters who were 17 and 14 and Cameron looks old enough to have a 17 yr old not play one.

Cameron’s playing the mother! Can you believe that!
I hope she does well, I just don’t see it.

They can’t change the ending! That will ruin the whole thing. It already is going to be such a stretch to have Cameron be the mother of three children. They are going to butcher this story.

I don’t care who is playing the Mother. What matters is who plays the character Abigail is playing. She is PERFECT for that role. I am glad Dakota dropped out.
I will refuse to see the movie if the ending is changed. The ending is sooooooooo important to the story.

ooops – I meant to say, I am glad the Fannings dropped out. The little Fanning…she would not have been good for that role.

I am ery excited for this movie but as an avid book reader I will send and email in the authors respect. The ending should NOT be changed, reason 1,980 why Hollyweird is LAME. Regardless I love Cameron and Abigail, I think she is a wonderfully talented young lady. I also have been a Cameron Diaz fan more then halk my life and I am glad to see her embracing her art and age by taking on this role. Good for her. It speaks volumes especially when 50 year olds like Demi Moore would rather not work then play someones mother on screen. I hope they do justice to this book.

In my opinion, the biggest thing that will ruin this movie for me is Cameron Diaz playing the mother.

Why doesn’t Jodi Picoult start a petition or campaign for people to boycott the film if she is that unhappy. Readers dont matter huh…. what crap, another good book ruined by the film makers. Oh and dont sell any more of your books to Hollywood Jodi.

OMG! NO if they change the ending whats the point of the story! The ending is so amazing and just perfect. Its truly perfect! Hollywood has to ruin another amazing book! Damn the man!

SO she is the mom, she is so bubbly it will be interesting to see if she has the depth for the character.

Jeez. We can handle the ending. Come on….Titanic, Pearl Harbor, Ladder 49, The Notebook……all wonderful movies with a main character dying in the end. I e-mailed him.

the ending of the book was a stupid cop-out and I totally saw it coming. All of this authors books totally fall apart at the end. I am happy they are changing it. It would have been so much better if the girl had to live with the aftermath of her decisions.

I just finished the book today. The ending does matter. I found it very sad as I have a daughter on a kidney transplant list with other health problems. I am thankful for the way the book was written as I could understand all that was happening.
