On the strength of her marriage to Tom Cruise:
“I try every day to make Tom know how much I love him. It gets better and better. It has made my life.”
“Tom and I stay in really good communication with each other,” Katie says. “I talk to him about anything, at any time. He works 48 hours straight, comes home, and if I ask, “Would you help me with this?” he’ll do it. He wants to.”
On his help during the birth of their daughter:
“I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive human being. He had the room ready, candles everywhere, pictures in frames. It was very homey and beautiful”.
On Suri growing up:
“Nowadays, Suri is talking up a storm, running around, so aware,” says Katie. “She loves colouring and creating. She’s a great mimic and dancer. She came to the photo shoot yesterday and was into all the shoes. I’m mostly shocked at how quickly she grows.”
On the strength of her friendships with her girlfriends:
“It’s so cool when you see women working together, being friends. I like having girlfriends. I went to an all-girls academy for high school and I still have friends from back then. There wasn’t any backstabbing. We helped each other get through school, get through the proms, find dates, make the dress.” The myth of mean girls is overblown, Katie says. “You find out your girlfriend is having a baby or getting married and you want to be there for her. That’s powerful. That’s what we as women do for the world.”
On positive thinking:
“It’s a conscious choice,” she says. “If I don’t like something, I just get through it; I don’t focus on it. I want to make decisions based on what’s best for everyone, including myself. I want to wake up and feel good about who I am. I want to go to sleep knowing I made my family happy, I made myself happy, and I worked hard in all aspects of my life,” she says. “It’s really pretty simple.”

coops- I hate to be the cynic here but everyone has problems. Katie Holmes will never show any signs of anything less than perfect cos they were a tabloid joke a couple of years back. Their publicity ‘clean up act’ must’ve gone into over-drive!

Is it just me or is she selling her happiness a little too much. In my experience the people going on and on about how great things are usually are just covering something up. It’s the ones who are quiet usually have the most to brag about.

I live right out side Toledo where she grew up, and word on the street is that she doesnt talk to anyone! She was, infact, supposed to be a bridesmaid in her good friends wedding a few years ago, and just never showed up. This is from my hairdresser…who styled the bridal parties hair.
Also, her legs are orange and dont match her face.

I think she looks good & I like the dress. She does sound a bit sickening and way to positive about everything. Maybe she’s trying to brainwash herself. I feel like puking in a bucket.

Scientologists are like that. They are like happy little robots. My husband did some contract work fo them and some of the lackeys were in every day to check on progress and “help out”. They take all kinds of Scientology brand “vitamins” and are constantly looking for things to do to be productive. If you don’t have anything for them to do they will grab a broom and just sweep. They are creepily positive and upbeat all the time like damn robots. I’m all for being happy and positive about life but there’s something about them that is just weird and offputting.

I lived near Clearwater, FL (a headquarters for Scientologists) and would drive past all the time through downtown. You can always spot them. They dress in blue or white button up shirts and khakis and have this very strange demeanor. They don’t look at anything in particular, just roam the streets like zombies. It’s their choice to study Scientology, but they just seem so strange. I wonder if celebrities see the “real” side of Scientology.

Why should she whine to the media. I guess she has her problems with Tom but on the whole, I guess they are happy. I know some people are too sad to believe that there are those who are truly happy. I wish her the best. She seems like a genuinely nice girl.

Scientologists think that children should be treated as adults. They use children as slave labor and allow them to be sexually abused. And Katie brags about how great her life is. What a scumbag.
