CONFIRMED!!! Patrick Swayze DOES have cancer! (Update)
I reported earlier this morning that Patrick Swayze was rumored to have terminal cancer. I hoped it wasn’t true – but I had this feeling it was. Well, unfortunately I was right. It has been confirmed by his rep:
Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and might only have weeks to live, a rep for the star said today.
The 55-year-old star’s publicist confirmed to Page Six that he’s suffering from pancreatic cancer, which could tragically bring down the curtain on his remarkably diverse career.
Patrick was diagnosed with the cancer more than a month ago.
The average life expectancy is six to nine months, with only 4 percent of patients living more than five years.

Patrick Swayze, who starred in Dirty Dancing and Ghost, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, his doctor says.
“Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far,” Dr. George Fisher says in a statement. “All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.”
The actor’s rep adds: “Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

Pancreatic cancer is very bad. Often at diagnosis.. it’s too late for intervention. Poor guy.

Please change the title to just say ‘Cancer’ not TERMINAL. I think that’s really mean when the poor guy is choosing to be optimistic about his situation. Give him a chance before declaring he is going to die. You do know that’s what terminal means…right?

pancreatic cancer is the toughest ever, what a great guy. ironically i saw that roadhouse was on tv tonight… lost my aunt within 2 months of diagnosis so i wish patrick the best!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with Patrick and his family at this difficult time – from one horselover to another – this is devastating news!! And I don’t even follow ‘celebrity gossip’ but Patrick Swayze is someone I grew up with and always looked up to. My friends and I are going to rent all of his movies this weekend and have a movie marathon to support him the only way we know how – by celebrating his life!!!!!!

Cancer is like the worry-wart. If you worry to much on it- it will stay and take over your every thought and take over your ability to heal and believe. Warting off worry is just what Patrick has been blessed to do.
