Paris Hilton is set to make her reality TV comeback in a new show, searching for a “cool” new best friend.

A source close to the former heiress says, “The show is going to be about her searching for a new best friend.”

“Paris is tired of the haters and she’s looking for someone new. She’s looking for someone new and cool who she can trust.”

The show, which remains unnamed, is expected to be picked up by either MTV or VH1 in the US.

The new show is “going to be full of good chick drama and you will see a side of Paris not seen on Simple Life,” the source says.

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie chronicled their lives on the cameras for their show, The Simple Life, where they worked doing manual labor, such as cleaning rooms, doing farm work, and serving food in a fast-food restaurant.

I guess now that Nicole Richie is busy with baby Harlow Winter, Paris needs to look for someone else to party with.

Why was late actor Brad Renfro cut from the video tribute at Sunday’s Oscars?

“It was really an editing decision because we can’t fit everyone in,” a rep for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said. “There was no specific reason.”

The montage featured footage of late actors, including Heath Ledger, who passed away a week after Renfro.

Renfro died of a heroin overdose in his L.A. home January 15th.

The actor made his big film debut, opposite Susan Sarandon, in 1994’s The Client. His film credits include Sleepers, Apt Pupil and the acclaimed independent film Ghost World.

Out of the spotlight after revealing her pregnancy, 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears is moving ahead with her life, passing her GED and thinking about college, a family friend said.

The Zoey 101 star passed her high school equivalency exam about a month ago – scoring particularly well on reading comprehension – and is looking to take the ACT college entrance test, the friend says.

“She’s already got her diploma,” according to the friend. “She wants to take her ACT. She’s not wasting any time. People don’t know her. When she gets something in her head, she’ll make it happen. Everybody is so supportive of her.”

Last month, Britney’s younger sister was photographed in Hammond, La., carrying a GED book. She was accompanied by her mom Lynne outside a building that houses both the Tangipahoa Parish School System Adult Education Center, which is a GED preparation site, and the Title I Parent Center, which teaches parents how to help their children develop learning skills.
