Solange Knowles is auditioning a new band for her tour

Solange Knowles

Solange Knowles is following big sister Beyonce’s lead and recruiting a band of unknowns to join her on tour. Beyonce held auditions for a dance troupe to appear in her videos and perform live with her and now Solange is hoping to form her own band the same way.

She will be holding auditions for her Hadley Street Dreams Band in her adopted home of Los Angeles on March 6th. And she’s hoping that her new recruits will be able to double up as dancers too. A spokesman for Knowles says, “The Hadley Street Dreams, a ’60s-inspired full band, will perform all live shows with Solange in support of her upcoming album, to be released this August.”

Knowles’ requirements include two female backing singers, a drummer, guitar player, bass player and two pianists. Musicians who cannot make it to the March audition are invited to submit an try-out video to Knowles’ website.

Has Amy Winehouse fallen off of the wagon?

Amy Winehouse

It seems like Amy Winehouse has the world at her feet. She’s got five Grammys, successfully completed rehab and has a new line of beauty products coming out. But despite all the positive things going for her, it seems Amy just can’t get it together, proving perhaps once again just how hard it is to kick a drug addiction.

Britain’s The Sun is reporting that the soulful singer’s friends are begging Amy to go back to rehab, fearing that she is “getting back to her worst.”

A friend of the singer said, “Amy’s in an awful state again — she’s clearly on drugs. Many of us think full-time residential rehab is the only option, but she won’t go back.”

Amy’s family and friends have reportedly held crisis talks this week after photos of her surfaced revealing numerous scratches on her left arm. The 24-year old has a history of self-harming while high on drugs. She also displayed mystery marks and spots on her knuckles and hands during a shopping trip in London this week where witnesses say she stocked up on candy and sweets.

“Everyone who’s seen her in the last week or so has been really disturbed by the state she’s in,” sources say. “It was hoped her new album and fashion range would keep her focused but it hasn’t worked.

Even Amy’s beloved incarcerated hubby, Blake Fielder-Civil, has reportedly threatened to ban her from visiting him because he is convinced she is still taking crack cocaine. The pair got into a fight at London’s Pentonville Prison over the weekend when Blake told Amy “not to bother” making any more visits after she turned up an hour late.

Diablo Cody leaked this picture herself.

diablo-cody-nude-01-20080227173226.jpg

Oscar-winning “Juno” screenwriter, Diablo Cody, who didn’t make a secret out of her past including the time she worked as a Chicago stripper, has become the focus of a scandal involving a bunch of personal photos which show her “topless” at most

In a recent entry on her MySpace blog, Diablo said she doesn’t really care that people are publishing the old pictures again since she’s the one who put them online in the first place.

“Hey! Did you guys hear about the ‘nude’ (except not really) pics I voluntarily posted on the Internet myself? What a tantalizing ‘scoop!’ Seriously, I thought nudity was only a scandal if it the photos were leaked by some crumb-bum rat or vengeful ex. I personally put my vag out there with pride, ladies and gents. And you bet your ass I’d do it again if the Beef Council would cough up the proper endorsement money. Beeyotches are lucky I don’t get naked now. I’m built for comfort these days. However, tempt me long enough and I just might drop ‘em…,”

Diablo wrote in her entry, titled “Viva Trash.”

In the undated photos, Cody is shown topless in a couple of them, while dancing on a stripper pole and also wearing what appears to be a “bra” of something that looks like shaving cream or whipped cream.

“As I’ve said in the past, they can dress me up, they can give me awards, they can coach me on the right responses, and they can sand the callouses off my giant feet, but I will always be me. And I will never be ashamed. No secrets, ever. (Well, hardly any.) Just like I promised,” the post added.

Sunday night, the 29-year-old, who used her 1-year experience as a stripper to write a book called “Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper, took home the Oscar for best screenwriting for “Juno,” a coming of age story about a pregnant teenager.

Most recently, she made headlines for refusing to wear $1 million diamond-encrusted Stuart Weitzman heels, calling it a “cheesy publicity stunt.”

“They’re using me to publicize their stupid shoes and NOBODY ASKED ME,” she wrote on her blog. “I would never consent to a lame publicity stunt at a time when I already want to hide.”

Snoop Dogg offers Jennifer Lopez parenting advice

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg certainly has a way with children.

On Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood, the 36-year-old rapper-turned-reality star can be seen rearing and playing with sons Corde, 13, Cordell, 10, and daughter Cori, 8, and wife Shante.

So as a father of three, what advice would he give Jennifer Lopez, who welcomed fraternal twins on February 22?

“One baby at a time,” he said at the Hip-Hop Summit Action Awards. “She’s going to have a good time with it. Babies are beautiful, especially having two at one time. I wish her luck, and how her babies remain to be safe and healthy and she enjoys her time with them.”

As for his own children, Snoop says he hopes to instill one important quality in them — drive.

“Ever since I was a youngster, I was a hustler,” Snoop says. “I sold newspapers, candy, I was always out of the house trying to make money, so I commend any kid that tries to go get something in life, whether he’s trying to wash cars or pump gas or help ladies to their cars with their groceries. Any sort of hustle is what I push on a kid because it shows a sign that you want to be something in life.”

Although he’s rich and famous now, Snoop remembers growing up in Long Beach, Calif., and has great respect for kids doing what he used to to — selling candy. In fact, he always buys from them.

“I was one of those kids who sold that candy,” he says. “Instead of me buying one bar, I might give them $30 and say, ‘I don’t even want no candy’ because I understand what it takes to have that showmanship to be able to go door-to-door, hand-to-hand and say, ‘Hi ma’am, would you like to buy some candy from me?’ That takes a lot to humble yourself, to have that in you to ask somebody to buy something from you.”

What’s his best piece of advice for kids? Listen to your parents.

“They are teachers. These are people who have knowledge and wisdom and they’re trying to pass it on to you,” Snoop says. “When they give you that, even if you don’t like it or understand it – take it in for what it’s worth because one day you’ll hear that voice again and you’ll be able to make a decision. You can say ‘I’m going to do the right thing or the wrong thing, but at least I know what’s right and what’s wrong.’”

Ali Lohan inspired by Lindsay’s career

Ali Lohan

For most of her life, Ali Lohan has looked up to her older sister Lindsay Lohan because of her career, the fans, the fame. Now Ali wants all of those things for her herself.

“I grew up watching Lindsay,” Ali tells Teen Vogue in its April issue. “It made me want to do what she does. Just the whole vibe. Being there, being on camera, or onstage, with everybody listening to you … it’s so cool when people look up to you. I’ve already been asked for my autograph and it’s just a really good feeling to have.”

The 14-year-old has her sights set on Hollywood, paving her way toward a singing and acting career and may even try her hand at fashion designing, saying she wants to accomplish these things “really bad, so bad. So bad you don’t even know.”

Ali will soon get some face time on the small screen. The younger Lohan has been filming a new reality series for E!, which documents her fledgling acting career (the magazine reports she may audition for High School Musical 3) and upcoming album. The show will also feature her mother, Dina, and 11-year-old brother, Dakota.

“It’s not all that fake stuff,” says Ali. “It’s just what we do in our everyday life.”
