L.A. Police Chief to Britney Spears: “Stay at home airhead!”

Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton was on a southern California radio show Friday morning, where he had some choice words for Britney Spears. The L.A. County Commissioner wants to pass new legislation that would protect attention-hogging celebrities from the paparazzi, titled, “Britney’s Law”. The law claims to curb over aggressive paps, but it’s not going over well with the city’s police chief.
On this morning’s 89.3 KPCC-FM Radio with Pat Morrison Bratton said:
“What we need is for Britney Spears to stay home instead of traipsing all over town. That would solve the problem. We don’t need additional laws…I’ve got laws coming out my ears to deal with this issue. What you have is several young women in this town and several young men basically making fools of themselves and tying up not only my resources but the resources of the media that would do better covering legitimate stories instead of a bunch of airheads running around out there…Quite clearly some of these characters so favored by the paparazzi are clearly in need of services. Not police services, but psychiatric services.”

What a jerk! It is his job to keep the public safe for her too. Being mobbed and stalked is not her fault nor should she be under house arrest because the pap vultures can’t be civil. His job is to ENFORCE all those so called laws so she can get coffee or shop if she wants to. Ticket all paps going through red lights during their chases! Enforce a safe zone so she can drive safely! Arrest those leaning over her car to get a shot! Arrest those loitering waiting for the money shot! Arrest those impeding traffic! What an ass to pass responsibility for his job onto her. It is supposed to be a free country after all -isn’t it? Do your job Commissioner!

While I agree partially with that statement, I think it’s unreasonable for those people to expect celebrities to stay at home. They can’t help the fact that they’re followed and photographed every minute of every day. NOT their fault. I don’t see why they have to sit at home like prisoners just because they receive all this unnecessary attention.
That’s ridiculous.

I think it is awesome that someone is finally telling them to shove it. Please the pathetic people the paps chase are not even celebs they are low rent losers who will do anything for their picture in the paper. These idiots need to give it up and act like NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS then there would be nothing that entertaining about them pumping gas.

I think he is right.

On one hand this makes me laugh on the other hand…The paparazzi are dangerous SOBs. So, laughter aside I think this cop is being a bit of an ass. Because, frankly, the celebs aren’t the only ones put in danger by those camera wielding vultures…The public is, too. An innocent bystander could be run down with those dang paparazzi chasing the celebs and disreguarding stop signs red lights and any other law they see fit…Just to get money in their greedy hands!
He says this -
“I’ve got laws coming out my ears to deal with this issue.”
So, I say fine then get off your fat donut eating ass and use them before those freaks with the cameras run over an innocent regular joe or pedestrian’s baby carriage or some horrible thing like that!!!

I completely agree with him. While some might say that’s his job to deal with celebrity related issues it’s not his job to deal with psychiatrically impaired celebrities.
These celebs al Britney and Paris are abusing the public emergency system to fill the voids in their lives. Law enforcement is duty bound to protect and serve their communities, however, we the community at large do not have carte blanc to abuse the law enforcement system for our personal gain.
These idiots should stay their simple-minded behinds home.

He’s a stupid guy. He has no right to say that to Brity Spears. Btw, Britney is seeking her kids a new daddy at the celeb club millionairecupid.com, anyone say her there?

Wow wake up people! The Commissioner doesn’t have any right to tell Brittany to stay home just as he doesn’t have the right to tell anyone on this blog to stay home. The paps cause the problems not the celebs. ENFORCE the laws on them and they will have to stop. Simple. How are celebs “abusing the system” by going to Starbucks or shopping? Get real! If it wasn’t Brittany it would be someone else. And, yes it is his job to protect even those with mental illnesses. America is a free country still isn’t it?
