The Britney Spears circus was in full force again on Wednesday following her release hours earlier from a psychiatric ward of the UCLA Medical Center.

The singer, escorted by her photographer beau Adnan Ghalib, had a meeting with attorney Adam Streisand of the law firm Loeb & Loeb at its Century City offices. Adnan screamed at paparazzi who followed them into the building and up in the elevator.

During a hearing on Feb. 4 in Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz refused to accept that Streisand had been hired by Britney to contest an earlier ruling that gave control of her $40 million fortune and medical treatment to her dad, Jamie Spears. “It’s just as crazy as it was before Britney went to hospital last week,” says an eyewitness. “Nothing seems to have changed.”

Earlier, Britney and Adnan meet up at the Beverly Hills Hotel and left in his car. There was a chaotic scene at the hotel. Several photographers were arrested and police were huddled in the hotel lobby discussing the situation.

At 4:50 p.m, Britney’s therapist, Dr. Deborah Nadel, spoke to police via cell phone. A police office was overheard saying, “I thought the department of health was going to be here treating her (Britney).” Another officer was overheard saying, “We don’t arrest anyone for being on the roof unless they’re causing a disturbance.”

Jamie Spears, who was granted conservatorship of her medical treatment as well as her finances, rushed to the Beverly Hills Hotel from her home two miles away at The Summit gated community but Britney managed to sneak out.

Britney’s release caught many off guard. She had been taken by ambulance to the hospital on Jan. 31 and was initially held under a 72-hour psychiatric hold. Two days later, Feb. 3, her psychiatrist Dr. Deborah Nadel, extended her stay by 14-days.

A source tells In Touch Britney Spears, who was held in a padded cell, was released after undergoing an “intense detox.”

A UCLA spokesman said “We have no comment. We cannot confirm or deny if she’s here.” Attorney Anne Kiley, of the law firm Trope and Trope who is handling Britney’s child custody dispute with ex Kevin Federline, said, “I have no comment.”

Attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing a former bodyguard of Britney’s, also said, “Just because she’s released, it does not mean that she’s able to take care of her own affairs.”
