Who Wants to Be Harlow’s Godmother?

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden welcomed their daughter Harlow Winter into this world. Now only weeks later, they’re welcoming their first public spat as parents.
Reportedly the dispute is over the issue of who will be Harlow’s godmother. The Simple Life starlet is pulling for Miss Hilton to fill the role, while the Good Charlotte rocker has his hopes set on Sophie Monk, his twin brother Benji’s fiancé.
And they’re in a deadlock over the issue. According to a source, “Joel doesn’t think Paris is up to the task … He’s lobbying for Sophie.”
What parent would want their little girl to go to Paris for advice???

what is the point of a godmother?

They both starve them selfs lets be realistic. The point of a Godmother is that they are the person that child will go to if their parents should die or unable to take care of them. Paris is the worst choice possible. Thats like a bad joke.

Paris would be a great godmother, she loves kids, Nicole should choose her.

The godparents do not get custody of their godchildren if the parents die. It’s solely symbolic. A godparent’s claim to a child would not outweigh a direct family member’s claim for a child.
My sister and and a good family friend are the godmother and godfather to my daughter…but they would never get custody!!!!! That’s what a living will dictates. My parents would get my daughter hands down.

Unless Joel thinks Paris is absolutely unsuitable…what prevents them from having 2 godmothers? Or a dozen come to think of it.

um…a godmother is someone chosen to serve as a spiritual/religious mentor to the children. i don’t think paris hilton knows where her underwear is, do you really think she’s the best choice? a guardian is someone who would look after the kids if something ever happened to the parents. paris should be locked in a cage. therefore it’s safe to say she’s an inappropriate choice for both.
