Westboro Baptist Church Should be ashamed of themselves.
I was raised Baptist - and I cannot imagine any Baptist I know putting together a shameful poster like this. This is horrible and WBC shouldn’t be judging anyone. This takes some nerve - considering the cause of Heath Ledger’s death hasn’t even been determined yet.

I totally agree. I feel that - regardless of your beliefs - someone has died and a FUNERAL is not the time or place to picket and express your opinion while his family members and friends are grieving and mourning this unexpected loss. I find it tasteless and disgusting. If they wanted to picket a movie opening or the set, I could understand. But a funeral? Only makes them look like a “tacky bucket of slime seasoned with vomit.”

This is proof that CHURCH and FAITH should often be separated - leave it up to humans to feel that they can interpret the word of God, and condemn another to hell - if God wanted us to be able to make that choice, he would have given us the power to do so.

EVERYONE please remember that they are not a legit church, its a group of family members of Fred and some friends who go and protest funerals of soilders blaming homosexuality. Big Helmet - if this post was about a soldier’s funeral getting picketed…the response would have been much the same. (it’s not just outrage because it’s over an actor…it’s outrage because a human being is getting mocked in death) However, that being said, this is a gossip blog - not a blog about the travesties of war. What were you expecting to find here? This is big news to alot of people.

I WAS RAISED BAPTIST AND THIS MAKES ME ASHAMED RIGHT NOW!! I WAS BROUGHT UP IN A VERY ACCEPTING FAMILY AND WAS TAUGHT WHAT/HOW PPL ARE OR WHAT THEY DO IS THEIR BUSINESS. I generally have no qualms about what is posted as news - except for this.
I’ve done a lot of research on this group (I refuse to call them people, so “group” will have to do). The thing that they want the most is to be recognized - so that they can have the chance to spew this disgusting blasphemy to whomever might listen. The more people call them, or talk about them, or acknowledge them…honestly, it just gives them more power.
It makes me so angry, and disgusts me, and everything everyone else has said….but yeah, I honestly think it just adds flame to their fire.

Im not from the US and not buptist either…Im catholic from Argentina and have no problems with gay people I think each person desearves respect as a human being besides his/her sexual condition, jobs, religions, races. etc.
Im really shocked with Heaths death…I like him since his times in “10 things I hate…”, its really sad that such a young and nice person came through something like this.He was a really nice actor, one of my favs.
But what is worst is what this people could be able to do, this people that call themselves “church”. The funny thing is, usually when someone protests against something (like gays, etc), it is because he or she is secretly gay! Just like these gay senators looking for sex in public bathrooms voting AGAINST gay rights! Ha ha! Stupid assholes! This is pastor Phelps and the real reason we are against homosexuals is because I am one. I often sodomise members of my church….My church aren’t real Christians either because if you recall, Christ taught forgivenss and to love your enemies….and although homosexuality is wrong and against God, God really does love them and want them to change.
