Debbie Gibson has some advice for Britney Spears!

ET sat down exclusively with 80’s pop star Deborah Gibson at her Los Angeles home to discuss her performing arts youth camp, “Camp Electric Youth,” in an interview set to air Thursday, January 17.
As a former teen star, Gibson says she understands the pressures of fame at a young age, but tells ET she never gave in, “I’ve never been drunk in my life, I’ve never done drugs, and I’ve never even smoked a cigarette!” Gibson credits her mother for keeping her grounded and says she feels sorry for Britney Spears, “At this point, she’s not in her right mind to make decisions for herself, and this is not her fault anymore. She has gotten away from the music, and more importantly, she has gotten away from being a mom. There needs to be one person that is keyed into her mental well being, and there is not that person around right now. I fear for her life at this point.”
Gibson notes that some young stars seem to have it together, “Beyonce, you don’t see her out at clubs, you don’t see Christina Aguilera out at clubs, unless it’s her event. You cannot yell over smoke, loud noises, and music and be a singer or a dancer. If you want to be a good entertainer, you pretty much have to live a boring life.”
