Before she was taken to UCLA Medical Center, Britney Spears made a quick mid-day stop at Jerry’s Deli in Studio City, California, Wednesday.

“Around 3 o’clock, Britney came in and was completely out of it,” an employee says of Spears. “She’s come in before, but we’ve never seen her this bad.”

“She was like a zombie… like she was sleepwalking,” the employee says, adding that she “didn’t stay to eat.”

She picked up Adnan Ghalib, who met up with her there, and “then left,” the employee says. “It was all over in three minutes.”

About 10 hours later, Spears was admitted to the UCLA Medical Center as part of “a carefully orchestrated intervention.”

It was said that Britney hadn’t slept in days, and also there was NO suicide attempt.

Former E.R. star Julianna Margulies and her lawyer husband Keith Lieberthal welcomed a baby boy, according to the couple’s family.

“Obviously I’m utterly delighted to be a grandfather,” said Keith’s father, Dr. Kenneth Lieberthal, when reached by People. “I have to say, he is cuter than any other baby I’ve seen.”

Margulies’s mother, Francesca, was coy when asked about her daughter’s new son, telling People, “I better not open my mouth. I don’t want to get in trouble with my daughter.”

However, on her outgoing voicemail message, amid background violin music, Francesca announces, “A beautiful baby boy has been born to us. All is well. His name is Kieran Lindsay Lieberthal. Is that poetry? Do a little dance. Love this day! All is well. God bless! Can’t wait to hear from you.”

Margulies, 41, and Lieberthal, 35, were married in November in Lennox, Mass. She had told People earlier that she was “doing great” with her pregnancy. This is the couple’s first child.

Jessica Simpson was at JFK today and was asked by a snapper who she would be rooting for in the Superbowl….her response?

“Go Cowboys!”

She must have no idea that the Giants are going up against the Patriots. She also has no idea that she ruined Tony Romo and the Cowboys’ chance for a Superbowl game, just by showing up.

TMZ has learned actor Justin Chambers, Dr. Alex Karev on “Grey’s Anatomy,” checked himself in to the psych ward at UCLA Medical Center this week. Yes, it’s the same place…

His rep confirmed to TMZ Chambers checked in on Monday and checked out yesterday.

The rep claims Chambers, a married father of five, was “exhausted and suffers from a sleeping disorder. He went in voluntarily to get some help.”

Chambers was in the same ward where Britney is being treated.

What is going on with everyone!   I blame the strike.  It’s about to make me crazy too!

In the wake of all of the drama that surrounds Britney Spears, her little boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James were safely with their father, Kevin Federline. The troubled singer was taken this morning to UCLA Medical Center and, for the second time this month, placed on a 5150 hold.

A friend of Kevin Federline’s said that he is aware of what’s happening and that he legitimately wants Britney to get better. “He wants her to be in their sons’ lives. He wants them to have a loving relationship. He wants her to get healthy so she can be the mother they need and deserve.”

I hope he means it! In my opinion, he was with Britney for the money, and now hopefully he’s being sincere. One day, their children are going to grow up and read all of this.
