67 Percent of US Magazine readers think Lynne Spears is a terrible mom

On Wednesday, Usmagazine.com asked readers to vote on whether Lynne Spears a terrible mom (she sold the story of Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy to OK! magazine) or just an unlucky one (she has watched both of her daughter’s personal lives unravel; her self-help book just got scrapped).
The result: 67 percent (of more than 43,000 votes) said “terrible.”
One reader snipped, “This is an obvious situation of bad parenting on the part of Lynne… Plain and simple. Maybe they need to see that the money wasn’t worth it in the end because it’s destroyed their family.”
Added another: “Lynne Spears is a sorry excuse for a mother. She not only has had her hand in ruining Britney but now profits of Jamie Lynn!”
Still not all blamed Lynne. One reader wrote: “The Spears family comes from the south, where women are married early and given responsibility at an early age, like my grandmother, who had her first at 16.”
What do you think?

Please. More then 67% of those people are worse parents. People need to stop blaming Lynn, she cant control if her kids have sex or do drugs. As a parent all you can do is hope your kids listen and pray for the best. I am so sick of people acting like they are God’s gift to parenting, like their kids are any better. I see out of control, disrespectful brats everyday, its about time people started worrying about their own damn kids.

Maybe in 1926 it was common and OK to be springing kids at 16. However, this is a child who is unmarried and not in any way prepared to raise a child by herself. Her family life is a mess and she will be shortly as well

oh give me a break. my now 17 year old sister got pregnant at 16 and we have a wonderful mother and family (she had to abort the baby due to complications, from what I understand the baby was developing in her fallopian tube)!!!! At a certain age there is only so much you can do as a parent and in the end your child is going to make up their mind on their own regardless of what morals were taught!!! Plus I’m suprised at the outrage, didn’t the “Whale Rider” actress have her baby at 16??? Where was everyone then?? Also if I recall correctly the “Whale Riders” baby daddy was also older than her!!! My goodness I swear if Jamie Lynns last name was anything but Spears and majority of you wouldn’t even look twice at the article.

Meliisa you must adore the Spears family. Anyone that can’t see that the family is f**k up is in denial. What I don’t understand is you think a naked pregnant (adult) women looks nasty, yet you can see a 16 yr old pregnant and keep making excuse and get offensive over it.

I’m amazed at people who still believe that because someone is from the south that this is okay. Just as believing that someone from the south is not as smart as someone from the northeast, believing that this is a normal thing for a 16 year old is ridiculous. However, it does not have to be the end of the world for this girl. Hopefully she will get it together and make a decent life for the baby, which is the most important part of the situation.

Didn’t someone say recently that dogfighting in the south is normal too?
Y’all should refrain from making generalizations that insult southerners who aren’t dumb asses.

Regarding the Whale Rider actress, there was a lot of critical comment about her at the time. About the OK mag interview, I don’t know what the US version is like, but the UK version is known to be very kind to celebs who give it interviews, so I am not suprised they broke the story thru OK. I guess she won’t have the money problems a lot of young mothers have, and having got herself into the situation J-L does seem to be trying to make the best of it. She isn’t glorifying it or saying this is what teenagers should do.

She is a self serving mother.
