Jamie-Lynn’s parents adore her baby daddy.
The Spear’s family seems to like Casey Aldridge. According to the family, he has been the ”buffer” between Hollywood and it’s pressures.
“He took amazing care of Jamie Lynn,” a source close to the family says. “Anything ever went wrong, he always comforted her. He took care of her.”
Aldridge, who is believed to be 18 or 19, has stayed largely out of the Hollywood spotlight, only occasionally accompanying Jamie Lynn to Hollywood events.
He grew up in Liberty, Miss., about 30 miles from the Spears family home base in Kentwood, La., and played high school baseball and football (he’s listed in a sports directory as a lean 6’1″, 165 lbs).
Recently, he has lived in Southern California and was a fixture at the condo where Jamie Lynn stayed with her mother, Lynne, while filming the Nickelodeon series Zoey 101. Aldridge drove her to the Valencia set, near Los Angeles, every day and stayed there while she worked, impressing Lynne and Jamie Lynn’s father, Jamie.
“Jaime talks about how he really likes Casey because he’s a great guy,” the Spears family source says. “Lynne really likes him, too. He’s a good kid, cares a lot about Jamie Lynn. They both adore Casey.”
The pregnancy, a source close to Aldridge says, was a surprise.
“I’m sure it was a shock to him,” the source says. “He has all sorts of plans for his future. He wants to start his own business, maybe get a degree and make something of himself.”
The source says that Aldridge will take responsibility for his actions.
“He’s a stand-up guy, and he will take care of the baby,” the source says. “He is not the type to let her deal with it on her own. He will be there in any way he can. … I know a baby wasn’t in his plans for right now, but he’ll do what he has to do, and he’ll be a good father. He really will.”

I doubt it is a maternity top. She is only 12 weeks, and this is probably an older picture. Looks like a comfy loose fitting summer top to me.

Ummm…. hello? Isn’t anyone going to bring up the fact that what they did was illegal? She’s underage… Though it was consensual, someone could still accuse him with statutory rape…

16 is the legal age for consent for sexual contact so it would be a bit hard for anyone to push that Mera.
What I don’t get is that the parents don’t seem to be too terriably upset by this, it is kind of like “oh… um… congrats! What a nice suprise!” Then we have Jamie Spears all mad at Lynn for selling the story, uh, I can think of 100′s of reasons to be mad and not one has to do with selling the dang story! Besides the fact where the hell was HE when his daughters are in the act of screwing up their lives, all we ever here is the after the fact how he is mad at Lynn?
I have to agree with Ick, where the hell is this dudes job? If he has all these “goals” why the hell isn’t he DOING something about them rather then knocking up his 16 year old girlfriend! He should be IN college NOW! Very odd!

Mera – yes 16 is the legal age for consent. I’m pretty sure also that the parents are the only ones that can “claim” statutory rape and actually press charges.

Wow… where do I begin.. It seems as though Jamie Lynn is following in her sister’s footsteps… it’s only a matter of time before J.L ends up barefoot and pregnant hanging out of a trailor with a kid on her hip and another one on the way… If only some people heard of something I’d like to call MORALS!!! Oh my goodness.. what is this world coming to.. And, just when everyone thought the Spears’ family couldn’t be disliked anymore…
PS; in some states like Arkansas, the legal age is 17, and some states have the consent laws at 18 even

i agree 100% with what chris said. i mean really, things happen in the world and people make mistakes. as long as the baby is healthy and raised with love than nobody should be made fun of.
