Sources are reporting that Jamie Lynn Spears has confirmed her pregnancy to OK! Magazine.
A source tells us the interview, which hits stands tomorrow, is six pages and is on the record with Jamie Lynn and her mother. She tells the mag that the father is Casey Aldridge, who she has been dating for some time and first met at church. Brit’s younger sister, star of Nick’s “Zoey 101,” says she’s keeping the baby.
Sources tell us that she has not yet told her older sister.
Nickelodeon issued the following statement this afternoon: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”

Britney Spears’s 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant.
Spears and her mother confirmed the pregnancy to OK! magazine, saying she was 12 weeks along and the father is Jamie Lynn’s longtime boyfriend Casey Aldridge. Aldridge’s mother confirmed it to TMZ.com.
“It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected,” Jamie Lynn told OK!, according to the Associated Press. “I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”
Spears told the magazine that after confirming the pregnancy with a home test and a subsequent doctor’s visit, she told only one friend – then waited two weeks before telling anybody else, including her parents.
“I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision,” she told the magazine. “Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”
Breaking the News to Her Parents
She told her parents just before Thanksgiving.”I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious,” her mother, Lynne Spears, told OK!. “She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”
Aldridge’s mother, Joyce Aldridge, told TMZ she was “aware of the recent interview regarding her and being pregnant” and that “we are in agreement with everything that was said by Jamie Lynn.”
“Everything is fine,” Joyce Aldridge added.
Spears, a high school junior who is 10 years younger than Britney, had until now escaped much of the attention about her personal life that has surrounded her sister.
Jamie Lynn stars as a schoolgirl at the fictitious Pacific Coast Academy in Zoey 101, finishing its third season next month as one of Nickelodeon’s highest-rated shows.
A rep for Spears was not immediately available for comment.

Why is everyone so harsh? Birth control fails. It’s not 100%. She is with a long time boyfriend which denotes the whore statements. Being with ONE person does not a whore make. The same thing happened to me. I was with the same boy from ages 14 to 20 and we had a baby at 16. I stayed in school, graduated and worked my ass off to provide for him and then his little brother. That baby I had at 16 is a senior in high school. He is a responsible young man that I am proud of. His brother is a star athlete at school and is also a responsible young man. I have a 5 year old now, too. My boys are wonderful and they are my whole life. My life didn’t go to hell because I had a baby at a young age. We own our home, have nice things and are all educated. Cut the poor girl some slack. This isn’t the 1950’s.

When you have young people on tv thinking pregnancy is a new fasion then there is something wrong. Alot of young people are going to think the same way. However the celebs all have nannys and they won’t have to worry about money. Normal people do. Normal people will not have the resources availible and they will have to struggle more. Some people make it and some don’t it is not constant. My sis in law now resorts to stealing clothes and stuff becuase she had 3 kids she could not afford to take care of. If you can’t afford BC you sure as hell cannot afford a kid! There are clinics that provide BC for free for low income people and more low income people should take advantage of it so they do not create a further burden on the system and the environment.
This recent fad of being knocked up and having kids is not very good becuase it just makes more people want to grow up so quickly. Kids are not kids anymore they want to be adults at age 8. It is disgusting to see an 8 year old acting like the “Girls gone wild”.

Teen prenancy is the new fasion??? I don’t know where you get your information…but I just saw a segment (a little while back) on the world news that said teenage pregnancy is down….WAY down…according to several studies. Your statement would have been correct several years ago…not now. As to Jamie Lynn…she has been with this guy for quite sometime…they obviously care about eachother…and it seems they are doing the right thing by getting this child OUT OF HOLLYWOOD!!!

I don’t get why she would be suprised? She lives with the guy for hell sake, so it shouldn’t be a shock unless she was totally ignorant. I work in obstetrics and see lots of unplanned teen and adult pregnancies….and let me just say I worry more about some adults being parents and less about teens

I was shocked when I heard the news. If it’s true that she and her boyfriend live together, then I think her mother is nuts! I don’t care how “conscientious” your kid is, she doen’t need to be living with a boyfriend at age 16, that’s a disaster waiting to happen. No, it’s not the end of the world to have a kid at 16, it happens, but her life will never be the same. I had my first child at 24 and I thought that was young. As long as she has some stability and support she can pull through, but with that family you have to question it with all the bad decisions being made. She should get out of acting, have the baby, get a high school diploma, and then go to college. I really don’t think we’ll hear much about the Spears family all that much with in the last 3-5 years, it seems like the public is so sick of these people. I really think she should have been more careful, girls and boys just love her show Zoey 101, you would think she would really try and set a good example for young teenagers…very sad situation!

How can you people call her a whore? Seriously? I am sure you and your kids were having sex at 16, hell I am sure some of your 16 year olds have had abortions and not even told you about it. So she made a big mistake but at least she isnt having an abortion and sweeping it under the rug just so she can stay ‘famous’ and shit. She is doing what she feels is right for her and I am happy to see a YOUNG person taking responsibility for her actions. This is no ones fault this is what happened, you cant blame Lynn cuz her kids went off and had sex, there is nothing she can do about that. I agree she is too young to be living with her boyfriend but at the same time she is in Cali and her family is in Louisiana. I am sure she had learned from Britney’s mistakes and I wish her much health and happiness with her pregnancy and child. To call someone a whore, or white trash for getting knocked up is very out of line, when we have ALL been there most of us just had abortions or were lucky enough not to get knocked up.

I think it’s really scary - but thank GOD she didn’t have an abortion. It’s scary to think of how many baby’s are being aborted in Hollywood. I applaud Britney, Jamie and Nicole (to name a few) for actually having the baby in the first place.

Okay, some of these comments are just a bit harsh. Lets all face it. We were all 16 and for those of us who were in relationships, hormones dont stop just because we “are not supposed to have sex!!” I am not condoning teen pregnancy. I am not even condoning sex before marriage. Yes, I am old fashion I guess becuase I believe there are reasons for saving sex for marriage…..but it happens a lot and unfortunately, even when taught by parents that it is not okay, society tells us it is okay, so it is hard to turn it off in the heat of the momemt. I feel bad for the results of the choices teens make when they get pregnant, yes, they chose to not be careful, but I feel bad that they don’t even realize what they are giving up. And, yes, they can become very happy, and good mothers, but it is not the easy road. with all this said, I hope that she has the support from her family that she needs and that the father can take a step up and be involved in a great way. All you can say at this point is pay attention closely to life and Good Luck!!

How can she have a cerfew while living with her boyfriend. Her mother stated that she was shocked because she always makes cerfew. And if she is living with her boyfriend, her mother needs to learn a lot obout parenting. Has she ever heard the line “over my dead body!!” How about just “No, you may not live with your boyfriend, you 16!!!”

First of all, you can’t be 16 and have a “long-time” boyfriend. A long time boyfriend is like 5 or 6 years. It doesn’t sound like she’s been with him for that long. Second, she is a minor. Her mother needs her ass kicked from California back to Louisiana and back again for letting her “live” or stay with a 19 year old. Congratulations to you Katrina, for being one of the few that has a happy ending. This girl has no guidance, no family role models, and it doesn’t look like a pretty future. Those are just the cold, hard facts.

My best friend got pregnant when she was 16 and also decided to have the baby, and that’s the best decision she could have taken. Now her baby is 4 years old and she can’t imagine her life without him. Britney’s sister is RICH and will have all the support she needs for sure, she will be able to do what she wants even with a child. Many mother who get pregnant when teens don’t have money and have to deal with all these on their own
