Madonna to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Madonna will join other rock legends and be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10, 2008. Other rockers to be inducted at the same time will be John Mellencamp, The Ventures, Leonard Cohen and The Dave Clark Five.
Selected by a panel of 600 industry figures, the artists must have issued a first single or album at least 25 years before nomination to be eligible.
When I think of Rock, I don’t think of Madonna. That is just my opinion. What do you guys think?

No, I don’t think of her when I think of Rock. But strangely, I do believe she belongs in the Hall of Fame.

People can say what they want about Madonna but she has been in the business for over 25 years. She busted her ass to get where she is and she continuously puts out hit records. Her voice has improved with age and she writes, produces, plays instruments. She deserves the recognition not many people have had the longevity she has had. There are lots of people in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that have nothing to do with ‘rock’ presay I mean Donna Summer the Disco Queen was nominated this year. Its just for music in general.

She deserves to be in the HOF 100%. Rock-n-roll spawned a new generation of music and every new genre of music ever since. Her music was the soundtrack for a generation (and beyond). That difficult and rare feat deserves recognition. Good for her.
