“Extra’s” Brooke Mueller, caught up with rocker Gavin Rossdale at the Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic which raised money for special needs and underprivileged young organizations. Rossdale talked about his son, Kingston, how he and his wife, Gwen Stefani, maintain a relatively normal family life – and his passion for tennis. Rossdale even hinted that Kingston might have a sibling soon saying, “We’ll see what happens.”

In the middle of the interview, Rossdale’s son joined him on his lap which prompted this proud father to say, “This is Kingston. This is my greatest triumph. Finally, I got something right.” Rossdale’s wife, Gwen Stefani, has earned her own rock star status but whose music does Kingston prefer? “He was on tour with Gwen…He’d come and watch the show with me with the headphones on…He’s big on drums. He likes them both,” Rossdale responded.

Speaking of music, Rossdale informed “Extra” of his future plans saying, “I just finished a record that comes out next year. It’s a solo record.” With both Rossdale and Stefani in the spotlight, it’s hard to shield Kingston from the paparazzi but Rossdale said, “We made a conscious decision [to have a child]. We would have a baby and the baby joins our life. We don’t stop for his. If we were going to be followed by paparazzi, it doesn’t mean we would leave him home…we don’t take life too seriously.”

Rossdale revealed how his childhood dream changed from being a star on the court to a star on the stage, saying, “I enjoy tennis. I grew up wanting to be a tennis player. [But] when I was touring on the road, I stopped for a long time.”

In addition to playing tennis, Rossdale admitted that he enjoys being a chef saying, “I like to cook… and it’s a hobby you can share.” When asked what his specialties are, he responded, “Lots of Italian food and English food like roasts.”
