Chickenpox hits the Spice babies!

Geri Halliwell is being forced to leave her 18-month-old daughter Bluebell at home while she and the other Spice Girls prepare to kick off their world tour in Vancouver on Sunday.

“Bluebell caught chickenpox from Cruz,” Halliwell (“Ginger” Spice), 35, revealed Friday morning on the British TV show GMTV. “She’s now completely pelted now so I left her at home. Normally they’re running around the set.”

As Halliwell suggests on the official Spice Girls’ blog, the outbreak was inevitable.

Daughter Bluebell, she says, “loves hanging with the Beckham boys. Cruz and Bluebell have play dates, and Romeo – well, he is just gorgeous with her. Actually, it was a beautiful moment when we were rehearsing the other day and all of our kids were playing on the stage at the same time. It made me smile.”

Between them, the girls have seven children: Victoria Beckham, 33, has three sons, Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 5, and Cruz; Emma Bunton, 31, has one son Beau, born in August; Mel Brown, 32, has two children, Phoenix Chi, 8, and Angel, born in April, while Halliwell has little Bluebell. Melanie Chisholm, 33, so far is kid-less.

My man and Scorsese.

Mark Ruffalo has ”all but signed a final contract” to star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in director Martin Scorsese’s drama Shutter Island, an adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s 2004 novel, for Paramount and Columbia.

Ruffalo will play a U.S. Marshal who along with his new partner (DiCaprio) travels to a Massachusetts island to investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane. While there, they get hit by a hurricane and trapped in a violent inmate riot.

Writer-producer Laeta Kalogridis (Pathfinder) penned the adaptation and will executive produce with Lehane and Louis Phillips. Scorsese’s Sikelia Prods. and DiCaprio’s Appian Way will also produce along with Phoenix Pictures. Shooting is scheduled to start in March.

Ruffalo will next star opposite Julianne Moore in Fernando Meirelles’ Blindness for Miramax and alongside Adrien Brody and Rachel Weisz in Rian Johnson’s The Brothers Bloom for Summit Entertainment.

Gonna see it…you had me at Leonardo Dicaprio. BUT Dennis Lehane movies are insanely depressing!! I have learned my lesson with Gone, Baby Gone. Bring tissue.

Well, at least she’s consistent!

Britney Spears’ day-long video shoot turned into an all-nighter on Tuesday because the pop superstar spent the day looking after her kids – and forgot to tell the production team. The Toxic singer was supposed to start work on the promo at Los Angeles’ Social club early on Tuesday, but didn’t appear until late in the evening.

A set source says, “She finally arrives at 9pm without the kids. The original call time for her was noon.”

But Spears quickly made amends, working hard with her dancers.

The insider adds, “The people involved do not seem too bummed. They’re all oddly upbeat.”

The shoot wrapped at 8am on Wednesday.

Jake Gyllenhaal to play Joe Namath.

namathmovie.jpg

Universal Pictures has tapped Jake Gyllenhaal to play Hall of Famer Joe Namath in its as-yet untitled biopic about the former New York Jets quarterback.

Scribe David Hollander (creator-writer of CBS’ The Guardian) will write the script once the writers strike is over.

The movie will tell Namath’s story as the promising young kid from steel town Beaver Falls, PA who rose to rock star status in the 1960s as the nonconformist socialite known as Broadway Joe, who would sit on the sidelines wearing a full-length fur coat.

In one of Namath’s most memorable moments, he guaranteed an upset victory in 1969′s Super Bowl III, when his Jets played the heavily-favored Baltimore Colts, and delivered on his promise.

Gyllenhaal is currently shooting the Jim Sheridan-directed Brothers with Tobey Maguire and Natalie Portman and will next team with Doug Liman on an untitled DreamWorks project that about a moon expedition.

I hate sports.  Hate probably isn’t even a strong enough word for how I feel about sports.  I literally feel sick whenever I hear it on tv.  (Only thing I can figure is when I was sick as a child, I would be stuck in bed – or on the couch while my dad watched sports.  I’m not joking – they make me physically ill!)  Thing is, I have 2 sons – so of course, I’ll have to go watch sports as they grow up.  Thing is, I don’t mind that. I can sit there and watch my boys look all cute in their little jerseys.

Even though I hate sports, I love me some sports movies!  I love a feel-good-underdog-beats-the-odds sports movies.   Lately there have been some great football movies – Invincible, We Are Marshall… maybe it’s the men I love, and not the football. Hmmm.

Kyle MacLauchlan launching his own wine!

 32.jpg

Desperate Housewives star  is launching his own wine. The actor has teamed up with a vineyard in Washington state to create a Cabernet called Pursued By Bear.

MacLauchlan told TV host Regis on Thursday’s Live with Regis & Kelly, “I went in with a friend who’s a real wine maker. We made a wine together and it’s going to be released in September. It’s grown up in Washington state. They are producing some fantastic wine up there, so I made a Cabernet with Tim Dunham of Dunham cellars.”

“It’s called Pursued By Bear. I challenge you to forget that name. It’s actually a Shakespearean stage direction from Winter’s Tale. Actors are actually chased off stage by a bear. It’s catchy.”
