Actress Hilary Swank blames her deprived childhood for her worst habit - stealing shampoo from plush hotels.
The Million Dollar Baby star admits growing up on a trailer park in Washington State has encouraged her to be thrifty in adulthood. She says, “I find it really difficult to walk away from hotels and not take the little shampoos they give you. Because I travel so much, I have cupboards full of the little free shampoos.
“It’s probably my worst habit. It’s disgusting. I’m like ‘Hilary, walk away from the shampoo.’”
I don’t think this is so awful? I take the shampoo bottles from the hotels I stay in. Is that so weird? You pay for it - you might as well take it! I save them up for camping trips/whatnot.
Is it so wrong to take the shampoo bottles from your hotel?

I take them if they are any good. I’m picky about my shampoo, but if I like it then it goes in my bag.
those shampoos leave ur hair feeling like a broom. don’t be cheap and buy a container to fill with ur own,u’ll thank me later for the beautiful hair!
Some hotels have good shampoo, Darn right I am taking it. All they are gonna do is throw it away.
omg i stayed in a hotel once that carried bath and body works brand shampoo/conditioner, soap, mouthwash and lotion!!! i stocked piled that stuff, evertime we passed a maid cart i grabbed as much as i could, my husband thought i was going insane!!! good times!
I take it, if it’s good stuff. Usually at the higher priced hotels, they have spa stuff. Then when you go to a cheap hotel, you have good stuff to take with you!
of course you can take it, its called amenities i worked for a company that makes them and you are supposed to take it, its like a gift for the guest.
Take them all, tried to take a mirror once, but it was glued to the wall
i think its more the fact that she has overflowing cupboards full….alluding to gluttony rather than the fact that shes stealing something she paid for…to take something that will go to waste is silly
