Celebrity Quote: Sean Penn

“It’s not a real thing. I don’t live in Hollywood, I never even talk to anybody from Hollywood.” Actor SEAN PENN insists he doesn’t buy into the A-list lifestyle.
Have I mentioned how much I love Sean and Buttercup Robin-Wright Penn? They’re one of my favorite “Hollywood” couples. They have been together for sixteen years, and married for eleven. Together they have 2 kids - and unlike some celebrity parent’s we know Britney Spears they got their kids out of Hollywood, and raised them quietly.
A bit of trivia… In the 90’s Robin Wright was robbed of her vehicle at gunpoint in Santa Monica, California. Shortly after this - Sean packed his wife and young daughter up and headed out of LA.
Another tidbit… Her son Hopper Jack is named after two family friends, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson. Interesting, eh?

He’s pretty impressive. I watched his interview on Oprah, and he was just so uncomfortable with the attention. He’s extremely intelligent and appears to be all about the family. I think he’s widely misunderstood.

The fact that he just said that “I never even talk to anybody from Hollywood”, and yet names his son after not one, but two of Hollywoods most prominent actors makes him even more of a douche than I thought he was.

How is naming your kids after friends douchey? And Hopper and Nicholson are hardly the sleazy Hollywood types are they?

this would maybe mean something if sean penn wasn’t such a spoiled little rich kid to begin with. he loves publicity. and, as an actor, will never take the supporting role. he needs the big emotive anguish role. totally selfish. he wants to have the “look at me!” role at all times. and he always brags about being so un-hollywood, but he’s even worse because he brags about it. it’s like the time he madxe “the thin red line” and kept going on about the low pay and low budget, but he did it for the work. but then wouldn’t do any press for the film because the studio wouldn’t give him use of a private plane. (none of the other actors had private planes, either).
he’s good at what he does, but let’s not pretend he’s something more.

Princess Bride is one of my all-time favorite movies too.
I really admire how they have handled career and marriage when so many others in their positions seem to be so self involved that everything falls apart, especially the kids.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Robin, but she looks too thin. Her face looks so much different than her Princess Bride/Forrest Gump days (which it should, since she is aging) but she doesn’t even look like the same person.
What are the kids’ names? I knew about her being robbed at gunpoint being the reason they moved out of Hollywood but I didn’t know they named the kids after famous people…
