I’m on Ellen’s side.
So Ellen is very upset lately about this dog situation. I’m sure you’ve heard about it, but if not, here is a low down. Ellen and her girlfriend Portia adopted a dog named Iggy. Ellen paid to have the dog neutered and trained at a whopping $3,000.00. She also donated $600.00 to the Mutts and Moms dog agency were they adopted the dog. Well come to find out Iggy did not get along with Ellen and Portia’s cats so they had to find a new home for Iggy. Ellen found a loving home in her hairdresser and her family. Her two daughters immediately fell in love with Iggy. Well some chick from Mutts and Moms found out and went off on Ellen. Apparently, when Ellen adopted the dog she signed a paper that said if it didn’t work out she would return the dog to Mutts and Moms. Ellen thought she was doing a good thing by finding a wonderful home for Iggy. The head lady at Mutts and Moms went over to Ellen’s hairdresser’s house and took the dog away. Ellen was crying on her show and the girls are all upset.
She said, “I kept saying, ‘If you want to be mad at me, be mad at me, but don’t take it out on the family. Don’t take it out on the dog.’”
I hope that Ellen gets that dog back for those little girls. Go over to TMZ.com and watch the video they have on it. It makes me sad. Ellen always trys to help animals and I’m totally on her side.

I THINK THIS IS THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS THING I’VE EVER HEARD. IS THERE A PAGE THAT EVERYONE CAN WRITE TO TO THESE “ANIMAL LOVERS” AND LET THEM KNOW WHAT ASSHOLES THEY ARE?

I wonder if the pet agency get another payment when someone else adopts the dog fromn them? Otherwise what possible reason could they have to take the doggy back if the family Ellen found was taking care of it.

This company is setting a sad example…they are showing me that all they want it more money. Ellen has given them enough money in donations and costs for the dog. I understand that these places are “suppose” to be non-profit but these people don’t make it seem as such. They need to give the dog back and issue a public apology or they are going to be sorry because I can see a boycott coming on already. Yikes.

It’s all about money for that mutts & moms outfit, and if it’s not, they sure have made it look that way. My question is: If the dog IS returned to mutts & moms for some reason, do they refund the adoption fees? Or do they just take the dog and charge another fee to the next person. Also, the fact that they took their website down does not make them look like a legit outfit.
I would hope that the ASPCA gets involved and keeps this organization under a microscope for awhile, because they’ve just told the world that it’s all about the profit, not the pet.

This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard! Those people at Mutts & Moms don’t care about finding that dog a good home. They just like the power. I think it’s harder to adopt a dog these days than a child!! I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if that place made Ellen get a physical to make sure she was healthy enough to take care of an animal. The small print probably also said she couldn’t smoke, drink, or curse infront of the fog either or she’d have to give them her first-born. Sheesh!

I agree that the situation is very sad. I am not totally surprised though. When I bought my Pug from a very reputable breeder, I had to sign a similar clause stating that I would return the dog rather than find it a home placement of my own. Sad though. Seems they would let it go considering she found it such a happy home.

What a mess. The purpose of rescuing a pet and adopting it is to find it a loving home. Ellen claims to have done so but the agency was quick to snatch Iggy back. The agency should have been a bit more patient. I just hope Iggy finds a great home. He’s so adorable and is a celebrity pooch now.

For over 40yrs I have taken in homeless pets. If someone can’t keep an adopted pet I do ask that they return it rather than sending to a shelter or the streets. But if the pet is placed w/ another loving home this would be just fine. What Ellen did in no way put Iggy in any danger, she did everything to see the little dog was cared for and Happy! I think the people from M&Ms are all about the money & power. One more thing, WHY? was the dog adopted out before it was neuterd. That should have been done as soon as Iggy was recieved by M&Ms. This says to me they were saving money not LIVES!
