I knew I liked Keane.

Keane do have some standards after all – they turned down the opportunity to work with Britney Spears.

Despite hawking their gargantuan pop writing skills to popstars including Gwen Stefani and, er, the Pussycat Dolls, the boys decided to rebuff the advances of Britney in order to ‘retain their dignity’.

Keyboardist Tim Rice-Oxley explains to The Mirror, “We turned down Britney Spears. After the Gwen thing we were offered a lot of work.

“But both Gwen and Nicole from Pussycat Dolls are phenomenally talented, and we wouldn’t want to start diluting that level of musical quality.”

I’m not surprised. Britney has no talent, all her songs are written for her. She can dance, thats about it. She cannot sing live. Everybody knows that. Its crazy to think that such an untalented trailer trash attention whore is a multi-millionaire!

  3. KittyDeluxe Says:

    Nicole? Talented? Doubtful.

  4. Karen Says:

Why do people let their jealousy and hate make them sound like idiots. Elvis never wrote his songs so he was a no talent? Do you seriously think people buy Britney’s music because she can dance? Too funny.

god, they are a bunch of whiny pretentious wanna be indie college-boys

  6. Great Punkin Says:

LOL…I think I found some new respect for Keane!

Why do we always kill our Icons. We have become so obsessed with theirs lives we end up destroying theirs for the laughter in ours. We grow up hating High School for all the gossip just to grow up and gossip/hate about someone you never met. I mean of course I am envious. I would love to make a movie and never have to wake up to go to a boring job but looking at what these people go through I would take my boring job anyday then have the world look at me with hate and jealously that it eventually breaks me.

Sorry boys, you can’t ‘retain [your] dignity’ by saying the “Pussycat Dolls are phenomenally talented”. I’m no fan of Brit Brit, but what a ridiculous thing to say — that the Pussycat Dolls are somehow dynamic and not degrading to work with.

  9. gagging Says:

Gwen and Nicole from Pussycat Dolls are phenomenally talented? wtf?

  10. lee lee Says:

i had LOADS of respect when i read the statement…then i realized they said the nicole girl was talented…eh…and they say britney is not.

so basically they think nicole is immensely talented…keane…now i lose respect.

  11. Blondey Says:

The difference between Elvis and Britney is…oh never mind. Why would I need to explain that?? Elvis could sing, period. And they are way more than a bunch of whiny pretentious wanna be indie college-boys. They are really talented and good for them for having standards!!

  12. HELLYEAH Says:

Britney is no-talent, fugly, disgusting, smelly fat skank. She should be obliterated from the scene.

  13. Sophia Says:

They need to shut up, no one really gives a fuck what they think about Britney…

    TEAM BRITNEY all the wayyyyyyyyyyy
