Amy Winehouse’s incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil has reportedly written a letter of apology to the pub landlord he assaulted.
Fielder-Civil is currently on remand in London’s Pentonville Prison awaiting sentence for causing grievous bodily harm to pub owner James King in an incident in June 2006.
The 26-year-old was later charged with approaching King to try to fix the outcome of the trial by offering him a $400,000 bribe.
Now Fielder-Civil has sent a handwritten note expressing his remorse to victim King after pleading guilty to both counts at Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London last month.
The letter reads: “I hope you don’t mind me writing, I think it’s okay to now I’ve gone guilty. I just wanted to apologize again from the bottom of my heart.”
But the letter has failed to convince King to forgive Fielder-Civil.
The 36-year-old tells British newspaper The News of the World, “I hope both Blake and Amy rot. The first time I met them was when his boot was smashing my face. Since then I’ve been to hell and back - all because he’s stupid enough to think he could buy his freedom through his marriage to her and her millions.”
King has also opened up about Fielder-Civil’s co-defendant Anthony Kelly, 25, who allegedly threatened to kill him if he didn’t withdraw his claims in court.
King adds: “He (Kelly) was very threatening. He told me I wouldn’t be giving evidence against Blake. He said Blake would pay me to withdraw my statement and I would be flown to Spain before the trial. Kelly’s men are not to be messed with. They said I could be knocked unconscious, blindfolded and locked in the boot of the car if necessary. But I still wanted to give evidence.”
Winehouse’s spouse, who faces up to five years behind bars for his crimes, and Kelly, who pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice, are due to be sentenced later this year.

After putting up with years of flirtations with other women, Alex Rodriguez’s wife Cynthia finally left the Yankee star over his rumored affair with Madonna and his newfound interest in Kabbalah, according to sources close to the situation.
“Cynthia has left Alex,” a source tells People. “Let’s see if she goes for the divorce. He did make her sign a prenup.”
“Cynthia is a strong person,” a close family member says. “But a wife with two young children can only take so much.”
Another source close to the slugger’s wife adds: “The embarrassment over Madonna was the last straw. She flew to Paris to get out of town before everything blew up between them. There is no affair with Lenny Kravitz. They are good friends.’”
Kravitz issued his own denial Thursday when the reports first surfaced.
According to the New York Post, Rodriguez’s former trainer Dodd Romero, now godfather to the couple’s two daughters, believes the New York Yankee star has been drawn away from his family by the excitement of Madonna.
“Alex, God bless him, is lost,” says Romero, who spent last week in Paris with Cynthia. “I think he got pulled in by the dark side, if you can say that nicely. He’s totally brainwashed….[Cynthia] believes that is what ruined the marriage.”
Madonna’s rep earlier told People: “Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary. They have met. They know each other and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There’s really not anything to comment on beyond that.”
According to a Miami event planner, Rodriguez has spent the past year immersed in the Kabbalah, learning all he can about it.
“Alex is very interested in Kabbalah and has gone to the centers in south Florida and other cities,” the source says. “He is totally committed to its teachings and is loyal to the organization. He has an acute understanding of it.”
With her five-year marriage in question, “Cynthia is in good spirits and is going with the flow,” says a close Miami friend of hers.
“She didn’t deny a lot of things are in the air and rumors are swirling, but she did not elaborate on the state of her marriage. She said, ‘Never a dull moment.’”

Sheryl Crow has given U.S. presidential hopeful Barack Obama yet another celebrity boost - offering to perform for the Senator on the campaign trail.
Crow is one of many star supporters backing Obama’s run for the White House against Republican leader John McCain.
And she reveals she is trying to fit campaign dates into her touring schedule.
She says, “I know my manager’s been talking to them. We’re just putting schedules together and figuring out where we can be useful and what they need us for. I think his message is strong and clear. It’s a message we need to start to believe in, and we need to stop with the cynicism and really manifest ourselves as being a part of what’s happening in this country.”
