While doing press to announce her new deal with cosmetics giant Avon on August 1, a wily Reese Witherspoon stashed boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal away in a secret guest suite reserved just for her at the Regent Beverly Wilshire hotel.
The actress, 31 – who reunited with her Rendition costar three weeks ago after a monthlong break – then found time in her busy schedule to grab a private lunch with her 26-year-old man.
After her press commitments were through, the duo spent the night at Gyllenhaal’s Hollywood Hills pad. (“Reese doesn’t have Jake spend the night when the kids are around,” says a source of her daughter Ava, 7, and 3-year-old son Deacon.)
Romantic get-togethers are becoming more commonplace for the couple, who were also spotted having dinner at The Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills July 25.
That should put to rest rumors that Witherspoon was on the verge of reconciling with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, which one source close the star says is pure fiction.
“If any of her friends thought for a second that she was considering getting back together with that a—hole, they would all set up camp at her house to stop her!”
Southern gentleman Brad Womack is ABC’s newest Bachelor, the network has announced.
Starring in a reality series about romance – the 11th edition of the matchmaking show – is a drastic change for the Atlanta-born, Texas-reared 34-year-old, who spent his 20s working in the oil fields of Louisiana, North Dakota and California.
But perhaps it’s not so different from tending bar, which is how he began his rise to success. Working with his brothers Wesley and Chad (his twin), Womack saved enough money to purchase his first drinking establishment in 2001. He now co-owns four bars with his brothers – both of whom are married – and resides in Austin. (He and the brothers are featured on the MySpace page for one of their bars, The Chuggin’ Monkey.)
Already, the show has dubbed him “The Bachelor’s own McSteamy” and claims he is “sincere” and “optimistic” about finding his wife.
Womack is set to wrangle his perfect match among 25 eager women he’ll meet in the Monday, Sept. 24, premiere (9:30 p.m. ET).
I like how he’s taking the whole martyr route. It’s not his fault he dry humped a 14 year old on stage. It’s the club’s fault. He’s just an entertainer – how was he supposed to know? It’s the parent’s fault for letting their daughter out of the house that young. It’s not his fault he was groping her all over, she was asking for it!
More I think about it – the more it irritates me. Oh shut up Akon – and take a little responsibility for what you did!
