Is Scarlett believable as a nanny?

I don’t understand why everyone is always hailing Scarlett. So she has big boobs. She has stumpy odd shaped legs and bulbous features. I don’t know why her being voluptuous would make her unbelievable as a nanny. It’s just a lame comment.

ummm … did scarlett’s PR people spend millions to pay off people to promote her as extraordinarily beautiful? i think what is nice about her is that she’s actually quite normal … even bland when compared to the more statuesque and impossible beauties like nicole kidman, angelina jolie & catherin zeta-jones. she looks like the pretty girl with the big boobs that all the high school football players wanted to sleep with. it takes a lot of makeup, couture gowns and a moderate amount of airbrushing to make her the model that she appears to be in magazines. she easily mouses up into a nanny. that picture you posted looks like some average girl with some average kid. how could anyone question her ability to portray a normal average girl? it continues to baffle me that people refer to her as if she’s some celestial beauty. angelina jolie is unusually striking … beyond average. scarlett … not so much.

She’s a borderline moron and major slut. Her limited acting ability is greatly enhanced by a good script bringing out what they can of her.. for the part, strict directing.. finely tuned film editing so far, but you can tell she is really too inexperienced in what is needed for the story or bored to do much more.

I think she is beautiful and I like her as an actress but how can someone be too beautiful to be a nanny? That is just a ridiculous statement, I wonder if they just didn’t think she acted well?

that’s flippin hilarious!! She is okay looking, but not beautiful by any stretch of the word!! plus I can tell from the previews that they’ve ruined decent book. She can’t act either, so I’m just pissed about the whole situation.

so i’m a nanny and this is damaging my self esteem. of course you can be pretty and a nanny. variety made a horrible assessment. just because scarlett isn’t overly entertaining doesn’t mean that it’s because she’s supposed to be an attractive nanny and fails.

As someone who works in a kid’s play place where I cross paths with nannies every day out of the week, I can tell you with total certainty that 9 out of 10 nannies in the world are much, much more attractive than Scarlett Johansson. And I actually find Scarlett very attractive, it’s just that real-life nannies tend to be the absolute hottest girls on the planet.

I think she knows how to work what she’s got, and is cool in that she isn’t trying to be anyone else… and I very much agree that she isn’t striking beauty that I’d pause if I saw her on the street and think how gorgeous that person was. The whole idea though that ANYONE is too pretty to be a nanny (or anything) is ridiculous - not every pretty girl wants to act/model. Not every beautiful woman makes a living solely on looks.
Also, the whole industry has a bit of a catch 22 here, b/c people have to be pretty hot to get a foothold as a leading actor/actress, but then to get the really good parts you aren’t taken seriously (like Brad Pitt after the hottest man alive stuff). It is an interesting line to have to toe… but I don’t think it applies here. Scarlett can work it when she has hair/makeup/stylist whatever for a movie or photoshoot or red carpet, but I’ve seen previews of this and it isn’t like her beauty overwhelms me to the point that I can’t imagine her being a real person. Prob b/c she IS a real person? Who does exist?

has anyone else noticed that the magazines which keep saying Scarlett is the sexiest women in the world, are magazines which are intended for the heterosexual male population? and the gossip blogs where Scarlett get constantly trashed are gossip blogs who readership is mostly female or gay? could it be that Scarlett really is that sexy and all you ugly bitches and faggots are just jealous?

i thought the book was hilarious, and i was so disappointed when they chose her to play Nanny. she is a pretty girl, but not extraordinarily beautiful in my opinion. but she really can’t act, it seems like there is a disconnect between her and the screen. at any rate, hopefully it’ll be a good flick otherwise, i’ll still go see it. btw, don’t read the authors’ other book, “Citizen Girl”, waste of time!! it was horrible!

i think scarlet looks alright, but think about tiger woods’ wife is a former nanny (au pair). I personally believe she’s prettier than scarlett. But scarlett does have sex appeal which is different than being beautiful in some cases.

Are you out of your ever-lovin’ mind? I was a nanny for four years in my early twenties. I knew a lot of nannies. Some of them were gorgeous. I am not exaggerating. Not always the highest self-esteem (that book TND is dead on in so many ways), but there were some very pretty girls. Really.
