Cameron Diaz out & about in Beverly Hills, 8/2

We talked earlier this week about Cameron Diaz being cast in “My Sister’s Keeper.” After reading all of your comments about what an amazing book it was, I went out and bought it yesterday. I sat down last night to read it (while the boys were watching some god-awful kids movie) and I blowed through 100 pages! I couldn’t put it down! You guys were right, it’s a great book! (And don’t spoil the ending for me or I’ll kill ya)
I also agree with those of you that said Cameron Diaz is an odd choice for Sara. I’m reading the book, and I SO don’t see Cameron Diaz being able to play that role. You know who I think would be amazing? Mary Louise Parker or Ashley Judd. In fact when I read it, I’m sort of picturing Mary Louise – she would be a perfect choice, in my opinion. Let’s start a petition.

Uh? Cameron? In anything relating to one of my favorite books? Please no.

“and I blowed through 100 pages!”
Horrific grammar. It hurts my heart.

“Mom” get off it… sheesh

Anna is the daughter…I think you must mean Anna’s mother.

Also, I can’t see Cameron playing anyone’s mother…She would be better suited to play the guardian ad litem. Anna is 13 in this book and she is the YOUNGEST of 3 children…Cameron is too young for that role.

Just wait till you finish it. The ending is incredible. You’re absolutely right about Cameron. Anna is a more serious character; I’ll be impressed if she can pull it off.

Who the heck is casting that movie? And are they on crack? Cameron Diaz as the mom? TRAVESTY. I bet she dyes her hair dark for the role too. Artificial intelligence as it were. My day is ruined. Thanks a lot! I agree about Mary Louise Parker-she would be perfect. Or Cate Blanchett. Someone with an actual brain who is not annoying. And who bathes on a regular basis.

I’m guessing “blowed” was a typo and my daughter meant to say she plowed through 100 pages. I’m looking forward to hearing Jocelyn’s opinion of the book and I’ll probably read it now too.
