Do you watch So You Think You Can Dance?
Troy and I were watching So You Think You Can Dance last night (guilty pleasure). It all was great, we thought – and then we saw Lacey and Neil perform Mia Michael’s “Time” contemporary dance. We thought it was pretty good – the flowers were a bit odd, but okay, whatever floats your boat.
And when it came time for the pan-to-the-audience shot, people were crying! The three judges all said the dance was the most moving dance they’d ever seen. Judge Mary Murphy was crying so hard she couldn’t even talk.
I guess the dance was supposed to be a tribute to Mia’s late father, and I guess that kinda makes it sad. What did you think? Did you see the video? Let’s talk.

I thought the dance was really good; although I can’t figure out that guy- does he dye his hair that color or what? It’s kinda funky. I did, however find it odd that all the judges gave big props to them, but then gave the “best of the night” to Sabra and Pasha- who I love. I think Nigel is way manipulative in his critiques. And Dominic needs to hit the road- he’s out of his league.

hahah exactly what me and my brother were thinking..that was the first time i had seen the show…i thought i was missing something when they showed everyone crying

I didn’t like the Mia Michaels routine. Call me heartless, but I thought it was boring!

I love so you think you can dance as well. I rarely like Mia’s work… its always so strange. Last night was no exception. With that set up, who would say anything negative about it? I thought it was a little unfair on Mia’s part. Anyway, I didn’t like it and thought it was boring as well. I’m rooting for Sabre to win!

I thought it was nice…but I also think it’s kind of cheating.
If you’re having the dancers do something personal about your life, it makes it kind of rude for the judges to give them bad marks. It was nice, but not very good IMO.
I’m sure it meant alot to her, but I think their dancing skills could have been showcased in a better way.

I LOVE SYTYCD! Usually I find Mia’s work very inspiring and the choreography is usually very challenging – I personally did not think the two of them did a very good job at it!
Unfortunately I did not see most of the performances because we are very close to Minni and the show was interrupted for bridge coverage.

I didn’t like it. There was hardly any dancing at all! The song was great though.
I’m in MN as well, and the show is being re-aired on Sunday at 3PM on Fox! (I found online videos of all the dances an hour or so after the show ended.:))

i didnt like that dance much. I LOVED the first dance that Mia did for Lacey and whoever her partner was. It was the first week of the show…so awsome. I hope Lacey wins!

Ya…i agree with most of you, especially Morgan. The dance lacey did in the black dress that was mia’s was soooooooooo much better then this one. I found this one good but nowhere near the other, and I usually really like mia michaels work being a contemporary dancer myself.

I liked it. I cried a little because I was imagining it was really a girl and her father, like we were supposed to do!

I love SYTYCD …. and I’m crazy about Mia MIchaels work … She has very intricate and non conventional choreography … I guess I’m all about breaking out of the mold ..so I loved this dance …though not as much as the first one Lacey did of Mia’s on the first show …. that one was my all time favorite

its wasn’t that great.
there wasn’t much dancing.
but it would have been hard for the judges to say something bad about the dance because it was very emotional for mia michaels and whatnot.

I will admit, I got a little teary eyed…but like KD, it was because I tried to see it through Mia’s eyes. Neil just bugs me though…I’m not sure why!
My fav’s are Sabra and Dominic. He isn’t conventional but I love his personality and I think he is doing great for someone with no formal training. Sabra is just perfect! I hope she wins!

I love this show. I really liked Dominic. I liked the dance, but I cannot stand Neil, he reminds me of a Ken doll.

I liked the dance however I think it could have been AMAZING if Sabra and Danny would have danced it!

Is there anyway of seeing this dance? I’m in Australia and missed the show last night. All clips have been yaken off the web!!!! I really want to see it.
