    Actually by stating that she is unique it is to draw attention to the fact that she is not a cookie cutter Hollywood product. She has amazing talent with a voice that draws comparisons to Billie Holiday, Etta James and Shirley Bassey. She is most definitely a troubled individual, she’s a notorious drunk and from looking at her dramatic weight loss I’d say there is some drug use going on. However, this doesn’t negate the fact that she makes music that is relatable and sometimes heartbreaking. You should listen to her other songs besides “rehab.” I find something about her refreshing, maybe it’s because she sings from her heart and her music has soul. I hope she gets help for her addictions because to waste her talent would be a sin.

    She can be compared to Billie Holiday, Etta James, and Shirley Bassey every second of every day… it doesn’t change the fact that she ISN’T IN THEIR LEAGUE. I listen to those three, and more, and I’ve listened to far more than just Rehab from Amy, mostly because of people like you saying that I should give her a chance. I did, and she isn’t anywhere near those three, hell, she’s not even as good as Dolly Parton. And you may say she writes great songs/lyrics, the problem is, I’ve been reading that she doesn’t even write her own songs, that it’s someone else and she’s just taking credit for it. Deal with it J.C, she isn’t that great, she’s a dime a dozen… and to top it off, she’s a dude trying to pass as a woman.

I totally agree that she’s odd looking and almost repulsive looking, but I’m choosing to look at her talent right now. And she’s good, no matter how much you want to try and take it away from her.

    She’s like a dirty, tranny Bette Midler. Blech. I don’t care if she has talent, there is no need for this. The talented singers people compare her to (ie. Billie Holiday, etc.) never freaked out like this, and they were phenomenal.

    I love her. I wish she’d eat a little though, that just looks painful. I still think she’s beautiful though. And I haven’t stopped listening to either of her cd’s for more than 3 days at a time for like 6 months.

    She’s f-ing brilliant. I have two of her CDs and they’re both amazing. Shirley Bassey meets Liz Phair only BETTER. I’m no fan-girl, but I find this SO sad. She looks like she’s dying. “Rehab” was so much more fun before it became obvious that Amy Winehouse really NEEDS to go to rehab. Performing on TV drunk…it’s a damn shame.

    Not only does she look like a tranny, but she’s NOT talented! I’ve listened to her albums, twice actually, because one of my friends insisted that she was great. She’s not, and anyone that’s dumb enough to compare her to Billie Holliday, or any other talented singer from the past… needs to find a nice sharp razor blade, and slit their wrist. The world will be better off without you and your horrible taste in music.

    You know what’s funny about her, she IS ACTUALLY talented.. she is breaking the molds of today’s music, ya she is just refabricating old music, but you don’t hear it anymore until you hear her songs. Anyways, another FUNNY thing about her is that she NEVER, EVER, used to look like this… you guys should look on youtube and search for her song “Stronger Than Me” which isn’t even that old, I think from 2003 or 2004… she didn’t even have tattoos back then.. she looked SOOO much better before, it’s sad she’s turned into a train wreck, but you can’t say that she is not talented.     If you think she can sing, you’re tone deaf. Compared to people like Avril Lavigne or Britney Spears, well hell she’s out of this world. But when compared to the people she gets compared to, it’s no contest, she’s not in their league, and sounds like anyone you could find at a state fair singing in a competition. And looking at older pictures of her, she still looks like a tranny. Bottom Line, compared to some of the crap around now, yeah she sounds way better than most of them, but compared to singers from the past that she’s compared too, no contest. She’s just not that good, nothing really extraordinary about her. It’s like people that think Nickelback are a great band… they’re not, it’s just that music (at least the stuff on top 40 radio) is so bad that they sound okay in comparison.

    Im a huge fan of this woman..Shes got the best talent ive seen in years & im only 15!..Sure she looks a bit skinny and she definetly did look better when she was thick..but thats the way she chooses to look and people need to stop talking shit about her!.x

    I’ve seen old pics where she was ‘thick’-er and she looked much better. In the video for “Rehab” she (IF she really IS a she) looks like a dude with a big jaw and huge hands. And now, with that ‘crack-head’ look, she’s just plain gross.

    Anyway, I hope she/he can get her/his shit together and not blow a promising career - I’ve had enough ‘young talent dies tragically’ stories.

    Amy winehouse talents cannot be denied. BluEyedBlondie obviously has not heard anything other “Rehab” and that is a shame. Both “Back to Black” and “Frank” are filled with better than average songs written by Amy and her voice is great. Her look, I think, is fabulous. If she were a blone I would not even notice her physically. Remember one mans meat is another mans poison
