Impatient Harry Potter fans to skip to the last page

Nearly a fifth of Harry Potter fans say they will skip straight to the last page of the final book to find out how what happens to the boy wizard, a survey showed on Saturday.

Fans’ web sites are buzzing with speculation over the possible ending of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the seventh and final book in the series.

Author J.K. Rowling has fuelled the intrigue by saying that “more than two” characters will die but she has refused to name the victims or give any more clues.

According to the poll of 500 children for the Waterstone’s book chain, 17 percent of readers will flick to the end without ploughing through all 608 pages first.

But a third say they are prepared to stay up all night to finish the book after its July 21 release.

Girls will race through the novel quicker than boys, taking about 30 hours to finish.

Nine out of 10 think it will be sadder saying goodbye to Harry than Prime Minister Tony Blair, the survey said.

“There’s no doubt that Harry will be missed, he’s a hard act to follow,” said Waterstone’s spokesman Wayne Winstone.

I won’t even bother reading this boring crap. The books drag on and the movies suck. I’m glad this shit is ending.

  2. Astrid Says:

Don’t be so happy, Mark! There are still 2 films to release…
Anyway. My hand will want to skip to the last page, but I won’t let it !!

  3. Moni Says:

I won’t skip to the last page, and it’s almost pointless. The last page or even last few pages of her books don’t often give a WHOLE lot of info.

  4. Nao Says:

Just stay off the internet.. there will PLENTY of spoilers. I don’t want to find out till I read it. I HATE people who ruin it for everyone else.

  5. Amanda Says:

I love these books and will read the entire book without cheating or reading spoilers. But I’m sure I’ll get the ending ruined simply by the news. I won’t be shocked to see the ending on CNN, MSN, or some other formerly credible (since the whole Paris crap) news programing.

  6. Hilary Says:

Oh man I so WILL NOT skip to the end! I want to really indulge in this book and soak in every word. I don’t want it to end so I will probably take my time reading it and hope that the ending doesn’t get spoiled.
