Nicole Richie isn’t getting any special treatment

Los Angeles County Commissioner Steven Lubell will be presiding over the Nicole Richie case. The legal eagles who have appeared in his courtroom say he’s tough and very much by the book. He will not give Richie any special treatment, and our sources say her pregnancy won’t amount to squat when it comes to serving time.
Hopefully they won’t stick it to her like they did Paris Hilton. Paris got “special treatment”, alright. She was sentenced to more time than any normal person due to her celebrity.

I really like her, so I don’t actually want her to go to jail, they can take Paris a second time if they want though.
Anywho, I think she will get some form of special treatment because if she is pregnant there might be a concern over her losing the baby because of the stress of going to jail.
And stress on such a small frame wouldn’t be healthy to her or the child.

It is time that we start focusing on the real issue here, which is driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and the ramifications of violating ones probation and/or disregarding the suspension of ones license due to a DUI charge. Thousands of people are killed each year by those choose to get behind the wheel after drinking or using drugs with no regard for the welfare of others. When you additionally have the money for a driver to eliminate this happening and then have the audacity to drive your car on a suspended license when you know you are being photographed it shows a complete and total lack of respect for the laws of this nation. You deserve what you get. Judges on a regular basis make judgment calls such as this to teach repeat offenders and those who violate probation on DUI charges a lesson. It has nothing to do with being a celebrity. It has to do with believing that they are above the law, violating it and then believing you should not be punished for endangering the lives of law abiding citizens. Anyone who has ever lost someone due to a drunk driver has no sympathy for these “celebrities” who are finally being held accountable for their actions as members of the rest of society are on a daily basis. In fact most law enforcement officials are calling for even stiffer penalties for drunk and drugged driving charges…..Also, being pregnant rarely influences whether or not one is incarcerated. The crime committed holds the standard. Poor women pregnant women who can not afford expensive attorneys are routinely incarcerated for charges less than these (ie: petty theft etc)

what are you saying? That Paris got unfair treatment? She didn’t serve out the regulatory 45 days for what she did. Drunk driving is nothing that people should get special treatment over. People’s lives are at stake. Did you know more people die from a car crash then by airplane? but if the air pilot was found drunk his liscense would be revoked for life. Logical right? That’s fair, but there’s more room for error in a car and we can right back in it after the time is served. Anon is right about all of that legal stuff and for you to make that comment is neglectful of the thousands of people who have died by people who have gotten special treatment for DUI’s by the legal system.
