Some celebs have been spotted with this latest gaget, and I’d be curious to hear from anyone who’s tried it! Does it live up to the hype?

My fiance got one yesterday. The phone capability is the least of its gadgets. The photos it takes are great quality for a cameraphone (even though you can’t zoom in while taking the picture) and it’s really easy to email photos to yourself and then have them on your computer. Having your email right at hand is great for someone who doesn’t already own a Blackberry-type device. The internet feature is great – you can check news, blogs, anything you want – though you can’t download anything (from what I understand, please correct me if I’m wrong). I’m disappointed that you can’t seem to have a music ringtone – on something that’s a combo phone and iPod! I hope Apple or someone comes up with an update that allows this. (Again, maybe you can and I just don’t know how to do it). The ‘visual voicemail’ is awesome – your voicemails (with the phone number/caller name listed) come up in a menu and you can listen to them in any order you want. It even tells you how long they are (ex. 40 sec, or 1 min 12 sec).
I don’t feel a strong need for one because I already have a cell phone with a decent camera, a regular digital camera, and a fairly new iPod. I don’t have a job that requires me to have access to my email at all times, though if someone did and doesn’t already own a Blackberry the iPhone is a great idea. I feel that the price tag is quite high. If it was more like $350 – $400 instead of $500- $600 (depending on storage space – 4 or 8 GB I believe?) I would probably buy one, but for now I will play with my fiance’s.

I love apple products, but will not be purchasing one, I have a phone, computer, ipod – I really don’t need them to be rolled into one gadget – especially at that price.

this phone is ok..i would say not worth the hype for several reasons a)the internet is SUPER slow. b) its limited what it can do, so dont expect it to be some out of his world device and c) well, its a bit expensive plus..the volume is terrible

HI! I actually was the 50th person at the Sacramento, CA (my hometown) Apple store to get the iPhone. I have used all of the hot phones, the juicy sk2, the dvf sk3, blackberry’s (the last 3 of them) so I’m sort of what you would call a cell phone/technology junkie. And the iPhone is far sleeker and comprehensive to use than all other handhelds/pdas. If you are used to having a Mac, then you understand completely. They are far superior in my opinion to other computers. The clarity of the screen and functions is actually amazing. Having Google Satellite is amazing too and makes directions alot easier and navigating for certain types of resturants in the area is a great way to try new places. It’s alot easier than I thought it would be. I reccommend everyone go out and get it!

I won’t try it… I just bough a Nokia, my iPod is in good health, and my computer too !! And I don’t really like the design of the iPhone… Imagine you loose it, you loose everything xD — And you Jocelyn, what do you think?

I think I’ll wait till an alternate version is available at not only a better price range but once all the kinks on this one have been worked out. Remember this phone is what we in the industry refer to as beta. It’s the first of its kind so naturally there will be a few things that’ll need to be fixed. But I totally agree with Remy, Apple is far superior in quality and functionality than any other products available. But wait till next year and there will be a smaller phone with even more functions available and the ones they have already will be upgraded.

Both my boyfriend and I got the iphones. I love it! The worst thing about them is the fear of dropping or scratching them. They’re really easy to use. The internet browser is really cool, I’ve actually read your website from my phone!
