Eddie Murphy IS the father - and a jerk to boot.
Eddie Murphy is the father of “Scary Spice” Melanie Brown’s 2-month-old daughter, Brown’s rep confirms to PEOPLE.
The results of the DNA test, which Murphy took on June 11, were received by Brown on Thursday afternoon, says rep Liza Anderson.
“He’s the baby’s father, it’s official,” says a source close to Brown. “The baby is undoubtedly, 110 percent his.”
Of Brown, the source said, “There was no doubt in people’s minds anyways, least of all hers. It wasn’t a surprise to her. She knew all along.”
Murphy’s rep declined to comment.
Brown, 32, gave birth to the baby, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, on April 3, and has long contended that Murphy is the child’s father.
She and the comic dated last summer, but in December Murphy told a Dutch TV show of Brown’s pregnancy: “I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test.”
In May, Brown told PEOPLE Murphy not only was refusing to take a paternity test but that he also had not contacted her since Angel was born: “He hasn’t seen his daughter. My people have contacted his people and they just had no response to anything.”

Karren, your comment is really ignorant and offensive to women. They dated for 8 months, she got pregnant and he broke-up with her, then refused to admit he was the father…any you’re trying to say its her fault?

That’s ALWAYS the excuse- she got pregnant to “trap” the man. Yeah- because pregnancy is sooo easy on the woman. What a lame excuse, Karen, and what a pathetic man. What kind of person would abandon the person they got pregnant? A REAL man would never do that. No matter what went on between them it’s his RESPONSIBILITY. If you don’t like it then keep it in your pants.

I have always liked Eddie Murphy, and I have always liked Melanie too. Now that the DNA testing is done and the facts prove that Eddie Murphy is the Father of Melanie’s baby Girl, it is time for Eddie to step up, be a man and take the responsibility and admit to the world that the little girl is his. If he didn’t want anymore children, then he should have done 1 of 3 things- got fixed, wore a rubber, or not had sex with Melanie at all. “It would be like a man to put the blame on the women for not protecting herself. I agree with Karen and Gerry Halliwell said the same thing about Mell not wanting a Spice Girl reunion because she had hit the jackpot with Eddie. We will never know for sure but a baby by a rich successful man will secure your future. My only fault with Melanie is that she lost her dignity during this crap with Eddie. She knew it was his child so she should have kept quiet and let the genes do the talking.

i agree w/ Layla- they dated for a long time and she came back from a trip to find him already dating someone else. he bailed and she carried that child for nine months with no help from him. HE IS THE ONE who made her sound like a whore by saying it probably wasn’t his baby.

Alyssa, stop the name calling. Sometimes when two people are in a relationship they are not always in accord with one another. It’s obvious that Mel thought that this was an exclusive relationship and that it could lead to marriage. However, it is more than apparent, that Eddie did not view her as a long term mate. He has the right to question paternity. They both behaved badly, but to paint Mel as some sort of saint and Eddie as the devil is just not right.

No one knows what goes on behind closed doors…the harsh feelings should have stayed private, if only for the babies sake. Its sad to think this little girl has to one day learn her dad denied her. Thats the sad thing IMO. Adults should act like adults.
