Courtney Love is going to sell Curt Cobain’s belongings.
More than 12 years after Kurt Cobain committed suicide, Courtney Love has finally decided to get rid of his belongings.
“I’m going to have a Christie’s auction,” Love, 42, tells AOL music Web site Spinner.com. “[My house] is like a mausoleum.”
Love and Cobain wed in 1992 and had a daughter, Frances Bean, now 14. Cobain killed himself in 1994; Love has never remarried.
“My daughter doesn’t need to inherit a giant Hefty bag full of flannel f—ing shirts,” Love says. “A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to ‘[Smells Like] Teen Spirit’ – that’s what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we’ll just f—ing sell.”
According to Love, her friends are supportive of the idea. “Everyone’s been positive and behind me on it,” she says. “We’ll make a lot of money and give a bunch of it to charity.”
An AOL rep told the Associated Press on Monday that no date has been set for the auction.

Personally, I think she has no right to sell his things, if anything, it should be up to Frances.

I still think she killed him, I’d say anyone who has ever heard the name Kurt Cobain wishes she had been the one who bit the dust, not him.

Also emphatically agree on all points. I just watched an episode of Oprah the other day where she and Gayle visited Graceland with Lisa Marie as a tour guide. There’s a “bunker”/safe there that houses all of Elvis’ belongings from clothes to sunglasses to jewelry to personal photographs. Lisa Marie said that after losing her father at such a young age it comforts her to be able to go in that room and get a sense of him and just be close to him whenever she needs it and just to know it’s always there. Frances only deserves 3 measly things? What about all of his writings that surely as she becomes an adult she would love to read and get a sense of who her father was outside what Courtney chooses to tell her and how who he was shaped who she is? Kurt often spelled his name differently. There are a few documents with him signing it “Curt” but it technically is “Kurt”
As for Courtney, I fully agree with Riley. She didn’t deserve Kurt at all. She’s a coked out whore that used him to gain fame because she isn’t talented enough to do shit for herself. I’d like to give her a swift kick in the ass if I ever saw her. If Frances wants a fucking Hefty bag of flannel shirts, she should get them. She hardly knew her father. If Courtney didn’t kill Kurt,why did she call the police and tell them he was locked in a room with a gun and was threatening to commit suicide?When the cops got there Kurt came out and said he was locked in the room to get away from courtney.Courtney admitted to police that she lied.Kurt had NO GUN and was NOT threatening to commit suicide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1OK explain yourself bitch.
