Mel B names daughter after Murphy
Former Spice girl Mel B has named her new daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown.
The child, the singer’s second, was born in Los Angeles at the beginning of April but now faces a battle over the identity of her real father.
Mel B, real name Melanie Brown, insists her daughter is the result of a short relationship with actor Eddie Murphy and has named the baby after him.
But Murphy has publicly questioned the idea and has demanded a DNA test to determine whether he is the father.
Why would she do this? Why would she name the baby after a man that doesn’t want anything to do with the baby.

If she KNOWS for a fact that she is his daughter, who cares that he doesn’t want anything to do with her? She is still his child and is intitled to his name.

Ima HELLA laugh if she ends up bn Charlie Murphy’s and Not Eddie’s. LOL But.. I think she looks A lil like him.

it’s just the last name…she didn’t name her Edwina or anythng not like my stupid sister who gave her son the same name as the deadbeat dad who was married to soemoene else and beat her up a few times.

Well, back in the day kids that were born outside of marriage actually weren’t entitled to their father’s name. But the point is that now a days, people give their kids whatever last name suits them and nobody makes a big deal. Maybe Mel B. just wants her daughter to have a sense of where she came from…regardless of whether he actually wants anything to do with either of them.
