Jenny McCarthey’s 4 year old son has autism.
Actress/model Jenny McCarthey has opened up about her four-year old son Evan’s autism after revealing she’s planning to release a new book all about dealing with the developmental disability.
The former Playboy pin-up has revealed her son is “hypersensitive to air and water” on her website IndigoMoms.com and she’s determined to help educate parents and teachers about autism. She says, “I want our children to start each day in silent meditation. I want organic cafeterias, outdoor class sessions… I want it all.”
McCarthy, 34, will reveal all about her own struggles with her son’s autism in new book Louder Than Words: A Mother’s Journey In Healing Autism. She tells In Touch magazine, “It’s a heartbreaking story about a serious health issue.”

So sorry. Heartbreaking … yet, those with autism are not doomed, and in many instances, will astound you with knowledge of different subject matters.

What kid nowadays doesnt have autism? Slap the diagnosis on every kid that shows out and misbehaves.

aparently you have no idea about what autism is. Most kids with it don’t “show out” or “misbehave” That was a very naive statement!!! We’re not talking ADHD here……

ani..i could not agree with you more. i am an ABA therpaist that specializes in autism and asperger’s syndrome treatment. Organic foods and outdoor classes are not going to help more than 15% of children. The majority of autistic children do not even get the proper treatment and it is really sad to hear people say that they act out. they are smarter than any one person can ever imagine. i wish that jenny mccarthy could come spend one week with the things my co-workers and i do. we have a child that is on the organic food diet. i am glad it worked for her son but he has been on it for quite some months now and he is still not talking, he is sleepy and sluggish in the afternoons which slows performance. “Jim Carrey knows a lot about autism” give me a freaking break. Take your child to a real autism specialist and quit acting like it is a daily thing for every child. people are so stupid.

I realize there are many deeper cases but give Jenny a break. She is just trying to say she is a MOTHER who has a child with autism. I am glad she is using her popularity to just show support and options to mothers out there that are going through this terrible disease. Wouldn’t you be happy jordan if just one of your mothers could see a difference in their child? Maybe even just comic relief from someone who can kind of relate to that mother. It is not a battle for us to say who is right and wrong no matter how many cases you deal with I am sure you know every mother feels like she is the only one because it is her baby.

I saw Jenny M. on 20/20 on Friday briefly talking about her son and she did give me hope. I am a mother of a 4 year old who was just diagnosed in April 2007. A mother who would try almost anything to help her child, a mother who would like to have a conversation with her son but can’t, a mother who like to go out to public places without having to worry that her son won’t start screaming and kicking (I know now that it’s beyond his control). I am outraged for those people who are all talk and do not understand this disorder. I am a single parent and it’s really hard trying to bring up an autistic child. Tourettesydrome I wish you could live at my home for a week and see what you said is really true. People get educated on this disorder before you speak!! No one really knows what you go through unless you are living it!!

My 22 year old daughter has autism. So I know how it takes to deal with.Although my daughter could never speak,it feels like I’ve had endless conversations with her. Now,I have a broken heart.Caroline passed away September 27,2007.The bond between us was very intense. My loss is unbearable.Caroline was staying in a home on a temporary basis. To make a long and difficult story short, she developed an infection and they just left her alone, until she dropped dead. The infection shut down her vital organs.I go a copy of the autopsy results, she had 50 plus bruises on her body and the coroner listed them as recent injuries????? I need help to get attention on what happened to Caroline. They are trying to sweep it under the carpet but I will not stand for it.These children need to be protected. They should go to jail and serve some serious time.I just don’t understand how people could hurt them.Autism affects all of the family and I am glad to see Jenny Mc Carthey talking about her son.

I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD SON WITH AUTISM. IT MAKES ME SO MAD WHEN PEOPLE TRASH ON JENNY MC CARTHEY ,BECAUSE BEFORE KNOW ONE WOULD LISTEN TO US MOMS. JENNY AND JIM CARREY MIGHT NOT BE DOCTORS .BUT HOW MANY THERPASIT OR DOCTORS HAVE RECOVERED A CHILD FROM AUTISM. AT LEAST SHE’E OUT THERE FIGHTING TO STOP POISONING OUR KIDS .WE MOMS ALL HAVE THE SAME STORY .WE HAD A PERFECT BABY .THEN VACCINES= AUTISM .PEOPLE DON’T KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO HAVE A CHILD WITH AUTISM . IT FELT LIKE SOMEONE CAME INTO MY HOUSE AT NIGHT A TOOK MY SON’S SOUL OUT OF HIM THEN LEFT. SO BEFORE YOU TRASH ON SOMEONE HAVE YOU WALKED IN THERE SHOES AND HAVE BEEN DOWN THE ROAD THEY HAVE GONE . AT THE END OF THE DAY SHE’S A MOM TOO. SHE PUT HER TRUST IN THE DOCTORS LIKE THE REST OF US. SHE FOUGHT FOR HER SON AND MAYBE WHAT WORKED FOR HER SON WON’T WORK FOR EVERYONE. BUT I GIVE HER ALOT OF CREDIT SHE NEVER GAVE UP. I DON’T SEE DOCTORS OR THERPAIST DOING RALLYS FOR AUTISM . MOMS THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX ABA ISN’T THE ONLY THING THAT CAN HELP CHIDREN WITH AUTISM. WE KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG BEFORE THE DOCTOR COULD TELL US. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE MOMS THAT HAVE A CHILD THAT HAS AUTISM.

Of course nobody wants to have a child that suffers from autism. But the truth is if your child has it, it is not curable. It is not caused by vaccines. 99.9% percent of children in USA received vaccines when they were babies and none of them got autism. Your child was born with it. Either through genetics or DNA. Just like any other malady, such as allergys, Homosexuality, flat feet, etc. So stop trying to rip off American public, with your ignorant books and get a life.
