An Adventures in Babysitting remake!!
Be still my beating heart! Ahhhh, I freaking LOVED that movie! I so wanted to be Elizabeth Shue - by the way.

According to Variety, Lynda Obst and Walt Disney Pictures are planning a remake of comedy Adventures in Babysitting and have hired the writing team of Hilary Galanoy and Elizabeth Hackett to pen the new script. The 1987 Adventures in Babysitting was penned by David Simkins and was the feature bow of helmer Chris Columbus. Obst and the late Debra Hill produced for Disney’s Touchstone label. Elizabeth Shue starred as a suburban high-school senior whose dull night of babysitting is interrupted by a call for help from a friend stuck downtown. The pic grossed $34 million.

They can’t do that! What is the little girl going to be obsessed with? Teletubbies? There’s no Thor, or Heman or Shera, or anything like that for kids today! Although downtown Chicago would be scary enough as is. Still, I have a feeling it’s going to end up bad, and then piss me off over the ruining of another classic from my childhood.

Please please please don’t mess with another classic. The Hulk and Superman Returns were bad enough.
