Thanks for hanging in there!

So Spring Break is going great! I’m totally beat (and it’s only 5:00) but it’s great. Sunny beaches in Oregon can be hard to come by, but today has been beautiful! We’re staying in Lincoln City with just about everyone else in the state of Oregon. It’s VERY crowded.
This morning we left the hotel early, and hit lots of tourist attractions like the Devil’s Punchbowl, and the Newport Beach Lighthouse. Then we went to the Rogue Brewery (it’s based in Newport) for lunch. Personally, I hate beer (give me a margarita any day)…but my husband had some beer that he said was great. We ate lunch, then went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. I’m not a HUGE fan of Aquariums…so I guess it was okay. But after the entrance fee, and hitting up the gift store on the way out, it was a $150 trip. Ouch.
So now I’m back in the hotel room for a few precious moments before the kids make me go swimming again. We swam last night – and the water was mighty cold. Oh well. If I get them nice and tired, then Troy and I will be able to stay up and actually watch a movie or something tonight. Anyhoo…back on to posting.
Thanks for haning in there with me this week – I really appreciate it!

Though I check your site (fanatically) every day, I’ve never posted a message before. But I couldn’t let this one slide! My husband is from Oregon, and about two years ago, after his return from a year-long deployment to Iraq, he took me there for a honeymoon of sorts. It was incredible. And we stayed in Lincoln City for a few days, saw the lighthouse, visited the aquarium, and even spent way too much in the gift shop. Anyway, your post today brought back all of those lovely memories. Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your vacation!!

Make sure you check out the wax museum, i do believe its in Lincoln(Oregonian here) If you are looking for sunnier less crowded beaches you may want to head south (You can drive the full length of the coastline i a couple of hours) and head down toward gold beach or bend. If you are down that way there are some botanical gardens that are totally worth a check out and at only 6 dollars a car load it really is a cheaper way to spend an afternoon.
